The insurance industry is just one example where quality content is needed to engage consumers in a crowded marketplace. As insurance is often seen as a set and forget transaction, we were faced with the challenge of driving relentless relevance to the AAMI brand.
By focusing on the quality of content produced, we leveraged AAMI’s social channels and introduced new tactics to develop an organic Instagram strategy. This helped to drive innovation and change within their social spaces. This focus on quality helped to increase AAMI’s engagement with its consumers, bringing AAMI’s Facebook page likes up by 37.57% (from 103k to 133k) from October 2014 to June 2018. Currently, the follower base is 22% higher than competitors on average, with a high growth rate of 58% compared to insurance industry competitors.
Creating content that draws on subject matters consumers are genuinely interested in can help to engage them in ways that will prove beneficial in the long run. With AAMI, we were able to generate meaningful ongoing conversations with consumers, helping to keep the brand top of mind and differentiated from competitors. Our focus on pushing out key pieces of quality content rather than content for the sake of content, helped us to increase AAMI’s organic reach and engagement, with organic posts engaging an average of 18K Australian monthly which is 1678% higher than the competitor average. With brand sentiment also increasing from 46.2% in July 2014 to 75% in 2017/18, this demonstrated that quality content can help brands remain relevant in a rapidly changing marketplace.
