We saw lots of opportunity with a well-established brand to build a strong online presence. Part of this included creating a design blog showcasing the expertise of La-Z-Boy’s in-home designers. From social media to digital advertising to strategic PR efforts using key influencers, Jelly helped La-Z-Boy enter the digital space with confidence.One of our integrated campaigns was a full-page colouring contest in The Province, a large Vancouver newspaper, which was also promoted on La-Z-Boy’s social media. Readers were encouraged to colour, cut out the page, and drop it off at their local La-Z-Boy store to win a prize package. We also directed online traffic to the Lifestyle Meets Comfort blog to print a copy and enter.In an experiential PR campaign, we partnered with our local WHL team, the Vancouver Giants and took over one of their sold out games. Prior to puck drop, we set up a La-Z-Boy lounge and encouraged people to sit in the chairs and rifle through all of the cushions for hidden prizes, including a golden ticket, winning them a spot in our on-ice musical chairs game at intermission. The battle was fierce and the lucky winner got to go home with a brand new La-Z-Boy recliner.We also partnered with two local YouTube stars who represented their love of La-Z-Boy and the Canucks by filming a music video parodying Iggy Azalea’s popular song, Fancy. Dark Providence brings audiences into the world of Frontier. It is a dynamic responsive website that presents six meticulously crafted films in which the character’s convey their ambitions, fears, motivations, and mistrusts. Like any good trailer, the stories are cryptic, revealing just enough to leave you wanting more. But unlike a traditional trailer, this experience is fully interactive. Visitors not only get to choose the order of the films they explore, but within each they get to direct the visual experience using their keyboard.
A dark, moody soundtrack accompanies beautifully designed story gateway screens, each replete with playful gyroscopic (mobile) and mouse-based parallax effects to give a sense of richness and depth.

At a relatively small capital outlay by Attractions Ontario, RadonicRodgers Strategy+ and Attractions Ontario achieved a dramatic economic impact for Ontario Tourism employing the association’s re-branded Visual Identity and re-branded Passport magazine. The freshly re-formatted print and online magazine was accessible to the majority of Ontarians and visitors to Ontario while 46,719 coupons were redeemed at Ontario attractions (20% via mobile device). This number was used to determine the total economic impact of the Passport coupons.
Campaign highlights:• 46,719 Passport coupons were redeemed at Ontario attractions• $31 million quantifiable economic impact• $125 million qualitative economic impact• 43% year-over-year increase in display ad sales• 23% increase in consumer database
Secondary objectives included growing the Attractions Ontario consumer database (increased by 23%) as well as growing display ad sales in the Passport magazine which increased to a record level for the publication (43% year-over-year increase in display ad sales), due in part to the enhanced appeal of the RadonicRodgers re-brand of Attractions Ontario Visual Identity, and the re-brand of the Passport magazine to an informative consumer magazine.

The City of Montreal was looking for a modern solution to better communicate the snow-removal schedule for streets, a great source of frustration for Montrealers. Also, car tows due to parking restrictions cause large inefficiencies to the flow of the municipal snow removal operation.
Create a mobile app which allows the city to communicate the snow removal status and schedule through their open-data portal, on a street by street basis with a simple color code. Citizens can save targeted street sides to receive notifications, which allows them to plan their parking more efficiently.

Content marketing has become an essential part of any digital marketer’s toolbox. It is ubiquitous, a common component of online campaigns for everyone — from mom and pop stores to multinational conglomerates.
But while more content than ever before is currently being produced, most of us are still making a colossal mistake. We are investing more of our time, money, and resources into producing the content, than we are ensuring people actually get to experience it.
Companies around the globe are guilty of investing too much time and budget on the production of their content, and not enough on its amplification. Often they are producing infrequent piece-meal content on an ad hoc schedule.Recognizing that this is a common challenge for marketers, we developed the concept of the “Three Piece Meal” — a content marketing campaign neatly packaged into an easily digestible format with easy-to-understand pricing.
The inspiration actually originated from the fast food sector; where meal combos that package menu items together into a quick, easy, and affordable bundle are becoming increasingly popular.
So, we decided to take the same approach when it came to content — only instead of combining fries, chicken, and a drink into a single combo, we’ve packaged together the top performing elements of a successful marketing and distribution campaign.

Nike’s Workplace Design team out of Beaverton, Oregon approached Jacknife to help envision Nike Canada’s brand new headquarters. The brief? Bring to life a workspace that inspires creative thinking and connects staff and visitors to each other and to the brand.
We needed to create a branded environment which celebrates the uniqueness of the Canadian market while also establishing deep ties back to the World Headquarters. To achieve this we developed a “Rough and Refined” theme – a celebration of the diverse nature of the Canadian landscape and its people, from the roughness of our natural landscape to our refined modern urban centres. As Canadians, we take pride in our sometimes harsh environment and the unique grit required to be an all seasoned athlete here.
We developed an extensive series of art-based installations through the new offices including a massive sculptural “Just Do It” made up of iconic shoe patterns floating on a dimensional map of Toronto, an intricate wooden slat wall and ceiling installation forming the Nike logo, a boardroom wall and seating installation made from actual basketball court material and a hand-painted logo, multiple large-scale wall murals featuring both the brand and the fabric of Canada, iconic footwear painted on concrete columns throughout the space, custom tile work “Run Faster” in employee kitchen, and a wooden type installation featuring chainsaw cut letters.
In order to execute on such a broad array of interactions, we assembled and orchestrated a team of highly skilled local craftspeople from a variety of disciplines ranging from sign painters to woodworking experts and speciality sculptors. Ultimately, we created a modern space that embodies the spirit of the Nike brand, tells intriguing and discoverable stories and inspires their team on a daily basis.

Burnaby Meals On Wheels had an outdated brand and website that wasn't bringing forward the energy and vitality that that their food brings to their clients. Rather than the cheap processed and sodium rich packaged dinners that other meal delivery services offer, Burnaby Meals On Wheels focuses on fresh ingredients to make simple, wholesome meals that are good for the body. This was paramount to the successful rebrand.
There were also issues with the website: convoluted and outdated; users couldn't easily sign up or find the information they were looking for. It was hard for staff to update, and worse yet - wasn't responsive to format correctly on mobile devices.
Weight Creative created a simple, clean logo design that would be much more legible at a glance, especially when paired with creative imagery. We chose photos of simple, fresh foods to be paired with the brand – speaking volumes about the quality of their food and nutrition before a word is ever read.
Driving traffic to donate or volunteer was one of the biggest metrics used to measure the success of the website. Weight Creative created clear paths to these conversions along with curating and organizing content in a way that allows users to easily find what they are looking for. Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan targets busy teachers who want inspire young students to care about food and the farmers who grow it. They offers resources and programs to facilitate hands-on learning, but those resources were hard to find on their previous website. The code was out of date and the most important information was buried. We know that more than half of webpage visits come from mobile phones, but this site wasn’t usable on mobile—AITC was potentially neglecting 50% of their visitors.
Our goal was to create a site that made resources accessible within one or two clicks and that was optimized for every screen size: desktop, tablet, or mobile. We started with tree testing: exploring approaches to the information architecture and testing menus with real users. From there we developed wireframe prototypes. We completely restructured the site’s information to focus on the end user—their actual goals and use-cases. The most important outcomes—teachers ordering programs and resources—are now the priority.
The site exceeded all performance expectations. Within the first year, sessions were up 74.75% and pageviews were up 101%. We really wanted to target mobile users since so much of AITC’s traffic was coming from tablets and phones. The results were impressive: we saw an 85% increase in iOS user sessions and 134% lift in Android user sessions. This tells us mobile is truly working.

Like all great brands, the Riverview brand needed to speak to––and reflect––those in the community it represents. It also required a flexible design system that could be applied across various mediums and campaigns.
Through independent research, stakeholder and user interviews, Massive's Strategists and Designers identified three different customer types, each one targetting a different group. Our initial brand concepts centred around each of these personas.
In the end, Riverview selected an elegant, simple logo with a playful, dynamic colour palette. It's early yet, keep your eyes open in 2019 and beyond for the new Riverview brand to be rolled out.
