3D Typographic Posters
The best print designs are memorable. They have a unique graphical or illustrative feature that has not been done before. Croatian graphic designer Alen Lipus created a series of 3D typographic posters that and remarkable.
Creating a new type of print design for a poster is hard. The best designers tap into this uncharted and unknown source of creativity that seems to appear out of thin air. It is through each designer’s creative process and struggle that their best pieces of work emerge.
Alen tapped into that creative well of inspiration with this balloon design. To create digital letters that look real and three dimensional is a feat of itself. To create letters that are three dimensional and hyper-realistic and are balloons? That is tapping into a well of creativity and talent that few possess.
The above poster contains letters in the shapes of digital balloons that look hyper-realistic. The M letters vary in size and shape. They are purple and orange with one M residing inside of a circle. A purple and orange striped balloon is added for creative touch alongside orange balloons.
The word “Oooo” is spelled out in balloons that are turquoise and pink. The added realistic effects of the balloon shine give this poster design a surreal aesthetic. It looks like they are actual pictures of real balloons. The shading and attention to detail with lighting are unbelievable.
Again, we see the repeated best print design practice of color contrasting at work. Picking opposite colors on the color spectrum that complement each other creates a vacuum of attention grabbing suction. We want to pull the reader into the print. We want to keep their attention there as long as possible. This is how the best print designs work. They capture attention, deliver a message and lead to the reader making a decision or insight into a product, service or brand.
Alen Lipus utilized his talents to produce an astonishing collection of posters. His mastery of graphic design, illustration, print design and typography are on display in full force. It is with this talent that we can get inspired for our own collection of new ideas. Our creativity thrives off standing on the shoulders of giants.
And right now, Alen, is touching the sky.
