Glo is an ovulation tracking app designed to help women manage their reproductive health. Users can indicate whether they are either trying to become pregnant, or trying not to become pregnant, and the app will customize the experience to help them achieve either goal.
The app requires that users log their personal information everyday in order to be able to make accurate predictions about fertility. The main element of the app is the fertility tracker, where users input their information and Glo makes predictions about the user’s chance of becoming pregnant on that specific day. Glo also indicates when the user can expect their next period. Users can track personal health information to better understand how their cycle affects how they feel on a daily basis. Glo uses this information to identify patterns and insights.
The Glo app also has a large and engaged community of women who create polls, discussions, and ask and answer fertility and health related questions. Glo harnesses this community in powerful ways. The “Daily Scoop” features questions and answers from the community. The pages section of the app features recommendations from Glo users on everything from clinics to doctors, medications and fertility products.
From a design perspective, the Glo app feels modern and approachable. A no-nonsense tone of voice builds trust and intimacy between the app and the user. Color is used judiciously to calendarize different phases on the user’s cycle and iconography is employed to represent different areas of the user’s reproductive health.
Glo is an user-friendly app design in the medical & pharmacy industry.
