Pawel Nolbert created the refreshing packaging for the Limited Artist Edition of Johnnie Walker whiskey in collaboration with Diageo / LOVE.

In cases like the Green Label -- which blends flavors such as cut grass, sweet wood smoke, and drying sea salt -- different colors are blended to emphasize the idea that Johnnie Walker is the perfect blend of flavors.
Even though alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages have been experimenting and innovating with their designs, whiskeys always seem to be connected with tradition and history, and their packaging is typically serious and conservative

There are six different boxes for each Johnnie Walker variant: Red Label, Black Label, Double Black Label, Gold Label, Green Label, and Platinum Label. Each one has a photo of the bottle of the specific label and a "paint splatter ribbon" surrounding it. The chosen colors are associated with the different flavors of each blend, like white for vanilla or golden for honey.
This tough design keeps that history in mind while adding new colors, shapes, and swirls that make the packaging sexy.Â
