Standout Features:
- Dynamic layout and imagery
- Bold typography and distressed textures
- Cohesive palette with gritty accents
L.W Design partnered with Chick Flip magazine to capture the spirit of female skateboarders and their remarkable accomplishments. The aim is to create a visual narrative that mirrors the raw energy, determination, and unique style inherent to women's skateboarding culture. The result is a magazine layout that's as bold and unapologetic as the people it celebrates.
A dynamic layout brings movement and action to the magazine, reflecting the energy of skateboarding. The designer intentionally used full-bleed images and unconventional grid structures to create fluidity and excitement. This design choice also reflects the unpredictable nature of skateboarding, which draws readers into the worlds of these athletes.
Additionally, bold typography and distressed textures mirror skateboarding’s rebellious nature. This approach expresses the sport's authenticity, giving the magazine a tactile quality that aligns with stories of perseverance and strength.
Lastly, a cohesive color palette with gritty accents reflects the urban environments where skateboarding thrives. It amplifies the magazine’s visual impact and aptly mirrors the balance between unfiltered realities and the vibrant skateboarding culture.
