Prices of digital marketing services often fluctuate and vary depending on states across the U.S.
Brands need to know and understand these regional pricing trends to ensure they're making informed decisions that align with their budget and objectives.
DesignRush's exclusive state-by-state analysis reveals the most expensive states for outsourcing digital marketing projects based on the average hourly rates.
With this valuable information, brands can make informed budget allocations to maximize their marketing investments for optimal returns.
Delaware came out on top as the most expensive state, with the highest average hourly rate of $132.04.
It is followed by Nevada and Maryland, with average hourly rates of $107.47 and $102.47, respectively.
Based on DesignRush's findings, this is potentially due to the strong demand for agencies and moderate competition within the regions.
On the opposite side of the list, Alaska, Wyoming, and Montana emerged as the most affordable states for digital marketing services.

The average hourly rates in these states are significantly lower, with Montana at $45.57, Wyoming at $43.88, and Alaska at just $14.55.
This exclusive data aids businesses in optimizing their budget and getting a clearer picture of the digital marketing landscape of each state.
For maximum and long-term results, creating and successfully implementing digital marketing strategies should involve experts, and it's common practice to find an agency to partner with.
How much agencies charge per state is valuable information that will enable brands to make the necessary preparations, allocating a targeted budget that will ensure their goals are met.
The DesignRush Methodology
To get our results, we used proprietary data to rank U.S. states based on the average hourly service rate for digital marketing businesses.
Our process began by collecting data from agencies across all states, ensuring that only those offering digital marketing services were included in the dataset.
Then, we filtered the agencies to ensure that digital marketing was explicitly listed as one of their primary services, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of our data.
Following this step, we summed the hourly rates for digital marketing services in each state and then calculated the average hourly rate by dividing the total sum by the number of agencies in each state.
From here, we ranked the states based on their calculated average hourly rates, from highest to lowest.
Finally, we cross-verified with industry benchmarks and peer datasets to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our study.
By following this comprehensive methodology, we were able to create a robust ranking system that not only reflects the true cost of digital marketing services across different states but also helps businesses make cost-effective decisions when outsourcing these services.
