Hot Pockets is gearing up for the holiday season with the launch of a limited-edition sweater that features zip-off sleeves.
This commemorates the Nestlé-owned brand's official removal of the famous microwave susceptor crisping sleeves from its packaging in a major effort to reduce waste.
According to a press release, the update will save an estimated 5 million pounds of paper waste per year, the equivalent of about 400 elephants.
With a festive red design featuring hot pockets and a silly-looking snowman, the soft-knit sweater's highlight is the zip-off sleeves that let its wearer stay cool when the heat is turned up.
The sweater is available exclusively on the Hot Pockets website for $40, with limited drops on October 15, October 29, November 19, and December 3.
Reflecting Hot Pockets' fun and quirky branding, the sweater is the perfect novelty item to catch consumers off-guard while simultaneously piquing their interest.
It's a great example of a company promoting its brand values to differentiate itself from the market.
Don't Sweat It!
Lauren Kelly, Brand Marketing Manager for Hot Pockets, discussed how the brand's decision to streamline its packaging led to the creation of the sweater.
The sweater is the perfect gift for a Hot Pockets fan that's sure to turn heads anywhere.
Earlier in June, Ore-Ida launched its own novelty "Tot-Protecting Pants" with Napoleon Dynamite star Jon Heder.
