Actor and medical doctor Ken Jeong appears in a hilarious new spot, partnering with sportswear brand Fabletics to promote its line of high-performance scrubs.
Titled "Scrub Up," the in-house campaign features the world's first and only activewear scrubs, available in 27 colors and styles.
Fabletics Co-Founder and CEO Adam Goldenberg spoke about the success of the line in a statement, citing plans to build up the product soon.
The campaign runs across digital, streaming, and TV, including influencer partnerships and dedicated emails.
Branding has gained importance in the medical field lately as the market becomes more competitive.
Fabletics is a great example of medical branding, using a less serious approach and a renowned comedian (who also happens to be a licensed physician) to increase brand awareness, enhance engagement, and build new connections.
Finding the right balance of popularity and relevance in choosing a celebrity to act as the face of a brand is crucial, and Fabletics nailed it with Jeong.
Jeong and the 'Trunk Thing'
The ad opens with Jeong, walking to his car from his house.
Suddenly, a Hollywood tour bus pulls up, carrying a big crowd of fans eager to see him.
The fans begin filming him, clamoring for him to "do the trunk thing," referencing the actor's most iconic role as Leslie Chow from "The Hangover" and the scene where he jumps out of the trunk of a car naked.

Jeong unwillingly plays along, teasing the crowd by saying there's "something pretty cool" in his trunk.
Eventually, he opens it to reveal an entire set of Fabletics scrubs in different colors. As Ken talks about how much he loves the brand, the fans begin to lose interest.
He then drives away as he screams "Too-da-loo, mother*******s!"
Jeong has had a successful career in film and television lately, appearing in "A Great Divide" and the game show, "The Masked Singer."
Jeong's brand value is also proven in how Popeyes chose him (and his pet dog) to star in its first Superbowl ad, which has been viewed 4 million times on YouTube.
The actor's comedy chops are also still in high demand, with the actor making an appearance in an ad for Supercell's Squad Busters, together with big stars Chris Hemsworth, Will Arnett, and Christina Ricci, that went viral earlier in May.
The spot has since accumulated 28 million views on YouTube alone.
