Calile Hotel has launched a new summer campaign that touts the beauty of afternoons by the pool in a unique and unconventional way.
Together with agency Florence and director Scottie Cameron, the "Poolside Attraction" short film runs viewers through the day of a hotel guest and a sun lounger that just wouldn't let the man out of its sight.
It turns the common holiday dilemmas experienced by guests around; instead of seeking a vacant sun lounger by the pool, the sun lounger seeks you.
The acclaimed director shared his idea behind the campaign, taking direct inspiration from the hotel and its well-known pool experience — an aspect Cameron believes makes "The Calile, The Calile."
Just like Cameron's work for brands Jacquemus and Speedo, the Calile Hotel spot also reflects his inclination for older filmmaking techniques, taking a slower, more natural approach.
“No gimbels or drones, or crazy use of VFX… I don’t like to let a certain technique or camera move overpower what the story is trying to tell. All the camera things should fall away, so you do not really even notice them," he added.

Video production is among some of the most popular mediums for brand storytelling for a reason.
According to a Forbes study, videos get around 1,200% more shares compared to images and text combined, making it an effective tool to tell stories in a unique and fun manner.
Throw in the talents of an acclaimed director, and you have a captivating original story from one of Australia's most famous urban resorts.
A Lounger That Loves You
The 90-second short film kickstarts with a man relaxing on the resort's lounger by the pool, basking in the sunlight.
After he gets up and heads back in, he notices the lounger following him wherever he goes: from the elevators, through the hallways, to his hotel room, and even inside the dining area.
The lounger continues to trail the man, always a foot or two away behind him, up until he checks out and leaves Calile.
The advert ends with the lounger being led back inside the hotel by its staff, bidding farewell to its beloved guest.
Previously, Cameron directed a spot for Speedo's global campaign starring actor Dacre Montgomery.
