McDonald's has launched a new campaign that brightened up the streets — literally.
Made together with global advertising agency Leo Burnett, "The Gift of McDonald's" is a one-minute short film that celebrates the moments we satisfy our cravings with a late-night drive.
However, the fast-food giant adds a touch of magic to the spot by lighting up the entire cityscape with neon-colored McDonald's designs, cementing itself as a go-to destination this Christmas time.
Beyond the spot, the holiday campaign will include activations, such as the McDonald's Gift Drop, inviting everyone in the U.K. to search for "hidden" gift tags across the country: in bus stops, LED panels, restaurants, and TV screens.
Lucky participants able to spot these gift tags will get a chance to unlock daily offerings like free food and merchandise, exclusively on the McDonald's App.

The Golden Arches company will also be launching a limited-edition collection of Christmas merchandise, including Grimace hats, Birdie socks, McDonald's Christmas lights, and more.
The merch will come as part of the Gift Drop giveaways and can also be obtained via the MyMcDonald's Rewards tiers on the app.
McDonald's will be launching a new holiday menu featuring offerings such as:
- The Big Tasty
- New Cheesy McCrispy
- The Terry’s Chocolate Orange Pie
"Christmas is a magical time, but it can also feel like a whirlwind. With long gift lists, crowded shops, and endless wrapping, it’s easy to forget to take a moment for yourself or with your loved ones," McDonald's SVP and CMO Michelle Graham-Clare said in a statement.
"That’s why we’re reminding everyone that the perfect festive break is always just around the corner. With ‘The Gift of McDonald’s,’ we aim to capture those small moments of lightness and joy, from festive gift tags to our seasonal menu and exclusive merchandise," she added.
With a well-rounded brand marketing strategy that's full of surprises, McDonald's builds on its reputation as a holiday fast-food go-to among consumers by giving fans a lot to look forward to this season.
This time, it's McDonald's turn to gift its customers with a stunning light show that's a feast for the eyes.
A Satisfying Light Show
Directed by award-winning director Nicolai Fuglsig, "The Gift of McDonald's" introduces us to a couple checking off boxes on their holiday to-do list, overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the season.
Suddenly, they spot the Golden Arches from a distance and begin their drive through the city for a spontaneous, late-night McDonald's run.
The beat to Benny Benassi's hit track "Satisfaction" begins to intensify as a McDonald's-themed light show amuses the two.
Signs like "Go on, you deserve it!" populate the streets, while houses turn into gigantic glowing gift boxes, and air dancer inflatables dance to the beat.

We even get sight of a dancing Grimace light stand, with the other McDonald's crew members joining him on the fun.
A skyscraper then lights up like a humongous Big Mac, before the two finally arrive at the restaurant.
"Fancy a McDonald's?" the screen writes, as the spot ends.
Previously, McDonald's and Kai Cenat teamed up to unveil the new Chicken Big Mac sandwich.
