Ogilvy Beats Dentsu, BBDO and DDB for the Network of the Year Award

Campaign Brief, an agency ranking business operating out of Wembley, Australia, released the latest installment of its ranking competition known as The Work. The Work 2022 features agencies, ads, and regional campaigns, and ranks them based on the Acceptances, a points system designed to provide objective and measurable rankings. The undisputed winner of this year’s competition is Ogilvy, with 89 Acceptances.

Ogilvy, which was in fourth place for last year’s installment of The Work, has climbed the competitive ladder, successfully overtaking Dentsu, BBDO, and DDB, thus claiming the coveted Network of the Year award.

This major recognition of Ogilvy as one of the best agencies in the APAC region comes as no surprise, given the recent successes of individual Ogilvy units, namely Ogilvy India (33 Acceptances), Ogilvy Thailand (22) and Ogilvy Taiwan (18).

With 89 Acceptances in total, Ogilvy was crowned the “Network of the Year,” surpassing Dentsu with its 81 Acceptances.

Dentsu, ranked fifth in last year’s competition, has also seen a remarkable rise on the ladder, in no small part thanks to Dentsu Creative Australia, dentsuMB Taiwan, Dentsu Redder Vietnam, Dentsu One Bangkok, Dentsu One Taiwan, and Dentsu Jayme Syfu Philippines.

DDB, last year’s winner, tied for third place with BBDO, both netting a total of 74 Acceptances. Other notable entries include TBWA, Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis, McCann Worldgroup, VMLY&R, and Wunderman Thompson, just to name a few.

The top ten placements in the 2022’s Network of the Year roster are:

  1. Ogilvy (89)
  2. Dentsu (81)
  3. BBDO (74)
  4. DDB (74)
  5. TBWA (73)
  6. Leo Burnett (63)
  7. VMLY&R (62)
  8. Wunderman Thompson (55)
  9. Deloitte Digital (45)
  10. Special (44)

The Work is a competition that’s been running for twenty years now, marking the 2022 awards as an important milestone in Campaign Brief’s history. The competition welcomes all agencies, production companies, individuals, and suppliers based in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, who have already appeared as finalists or winners at other award shows.

The Campaign Brief provides rankings of top advertising agencies, executive creative directors, creative directors, creatives and clients in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. It runs competitions on an annual basis, but only for the companies and individuals operating in the APAC region. It also covers other global competitions and events in the world of ads and ad campaigns.
