American fast food chain Popeyes is enlisting actor and comedian Ken Jeong to be at the center of its first-ever Super Bowl commercial.
To make things extra special, the spot will also feature the Hangover star's very own pooch, Mocha.
“That made it even sweeter for me,” the actor said. “That was a lot of fun.”
Jeong also shared how starring in Popeyes ad was a big deal for him even if he has been featured in a Super Bowl ad before.
"Sometimes, the first time you do it and you’re like, ‘Wow I’m just so happy to be here,’ and then if you’re fortunate enough to do it subsequent times, you want to take on more responsibility and make it good," Jeong explained.
The comedian, who earned his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last year, also shared the importance of Popeyes during his years working in the medical field, prior to his life in the limelight.
“It was not uncommon after a long night, after a shift, that I would go to Popeyes and just treat myself,” Jeong said. “Even when I did a commencement speech there a couple of years ago, one my big requests was a Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich.”
Popeyes Launches Official Super Bowl Teaser
For the meantime, the popular chicken joint released a 15-second teaser promoting Jeong's big feature.
In "The Wait is Over," Jeong acts as a man who waited 52 years for "perfection." The teaser then features its new flavored chicken wing offers as they float in the air.
To conclude the spot, Jeong steps outside of a cryogenic chamber, all to the main theme of Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.
The full spot starring Jeong and Mocha is set to air on February 11 during the Big Game.
