Legacy auto brand Volkswagen is continuing its train of heartwarming spots with the launch of "Life Half-Full," celebrating the arrival of the ID. Buzz in America.
Helmed by advertising agency Johannes Leonardo, the car brand's new one-minute spot seeks to tout the electric minivan as perfect for making everyday moments more meaningful.
Set to the tune of Elaine Stritch's song "Are You Having Fun?", the advert highlights colorful slice-of-life moments from Volkswagen drivers, with the minivan accompanying them as they make the most out of life.
Through lively and vivid imagery, the car brand positions its ID. Buzz as the minivan of choice for people who seek out fun and fulfillment.

Rachael Zaluzec, Volkswagen America CMO and SVP of Customer Experience and Brand Marketing, shared more details about the uplifting campaign:
"For Volkswagen, our all-electric ID. Buzz is more than simply another vehicle within our lineup. Rather, the ID. Buzz, the reincarnation of the iconic microbus, embodies the spirit of our brand yesterday, today, and tomorrow."
Meanwhile, Johannes Leonardo Chief Creative Officer Jonathan Santana explained how the ID. Buzz's arrival in the U.S. represents an opportunity, and the agency has an "immense responsibility" to "rekindle what cemented the original bus in the hearts and minds of Americans in the first place."
Creating an ad for the rebirth of an iconic car is no easy feat, that's why it needs the touch of industry experts.
And Johannes Leonardo hit the nail with this latest spot, highlighting the decades-loved minivan with an earnest display of Volkswagen's brand identity.
How to Live Half-Full
The one-minute spot kickstarts with a blue ID. Buzz by the seaside. Viewers are then treated to colorful vignettes of people just living life while having fun:

The rest of the spot plays out like a montage, with people playing frisbee, unloading furniture from the trunk of the minivan, and a family preparing for a beach trip.
"Once you see life half-full, it'll never look the same," the screen reads as the spot ends.
