Global online marketplace Etsy just launched a heartwarming campaign starring one of the world's most recognizable children's book characters, Wally of "Where's Waldo?"
Made together with Orchard Creative, the latest efforts are marked by two spots that show the hustle and bustle of the holiday season from the striped fellow's point of view, marking the shift from Halloween to Christmas.

While Wally is recognized wherever he goes, no one truly sees him, and the initiative was built on this insight that, at people's cores, lies an inherent desire to feel seen.
With that, the campaign's message perfectly encapsulates the transformative power of receiving meaningful gifts from people who love you the most.

Minor added that Waldo is an iconic character and someone who's always been spotted but never truly known, which begs the question: "What if this holiday, Waldo finally felt seen for the first time?"
Orchard Creative Group Creative Director Heather Larimer reinforced this sentiment, saying the agency thought it would be interesting to turn a character everyone thinks they know into a "real person that a great friend truly understands and values."
Heartwarming, thoughtful, and most of all, creative — the latest efforts from the e-commerce platform not only bring the holiday spirits this season but also emotionally engage its audiences through meaningful brand storytelling.
Who's Waldo?
The one-minute hero spot titled "Waldo Anthem" sees the man sharing his love for crowds and the "frenetic feeling of being surrounded by people."
As he gets off a train, he is quickly recognized by passersby; some call him out by name, while others turn their heads at the sight of him.
"Some look for me, most people only look at me," he shares.
However, while everyone asks "Where's Wally?" the man expresses his desire to be asked "Who's Wally?" as he sometimes feels that no one really knows him.
The moment he gets home, he is greeted by a loved one who gifts him a compass.
"Sometimes, it takes someone who really knows you to make you feel seen," Wally says, as the spot ends.
Meanwhile, "Waldo Gifting" shows Wally expressing his desire to find the perfect gift for his loved ones.
We then see the people in his life who share different interests: one friend is a huge coffee lover, another neighbor enjoys yoga, and his own dog has a huge appetite.
Through captivating visuals, viewers then see gift ideas Waldo has in mind for each loved one based on their interests.
The advert concludes with the man gifting these people those items, which wouldn't have been possible without the help of Etsy.
