I booked a consultation with one of the CPAs working at Avalon because, after 18 years in the USA, I was back in Canada and running a small Canadian corporation for the first time. Given the large differences between how a small Canadian corporation is taxed as compared to a US-based LLC, I was in the dark about how to manage on the financial side. Eric at Avalon did a great job walking me through my options, pointing me to further resources and doing some needed follow-up as well. He was generous with his time and well-prepared for our meeting. My only complaint is that Avalon should have a better initial scheduling/onboarding system. I had to wait for some time to get a response to my initial inquiry, and a fair bit longer for the appointment itself, all of which was done without any messages or other info provided telling me that I was indeed still in the queue, so to speak. There was also no engagement or other disclaimers with respect to legal liability. But these things were not worth a "star" to me, so Avalon is getting five of those from me. Thank you! "
