Former Director for Highways Design and Maintenance Ltd.I switched my company to Brown McLeod circa 2010, on recommendation from a friend, and never looked back. I have received excellent service from them ever since. The staff are great, they’ve helped us out through a few tough times, during Austerity and Covid, and also offered help above and beyond what you would expect, for instance: personal issues with HMRC (getting through to them when I couldn’t) and on issues such as Student Loans and Mortgages. I’ve recently closed down HDM Ltd as I’m approaching retirement; but, if I do get bored, and decide to branch out again, then Brown McLeod will be my first point of contact. "

Went with this company when we decided to go on our own around 4 years ago. Told them we would need looking after as always been employed. They assured me they would . We got tripped up at nearly every stage and received little to no help. At one point we almost thought we would have to lose the company. They do everything last minute and are terrible to work with. You have to tell them about ways of saving yourself money....not them! Avoid!Sue who does payroll is really good though. "

If you value your time, confidentiality and money as a business/entertainer. absolutely avoid like another reviewer suggested. I had been incredibly patient with basic errors being made that became consistent once I internally complained they dropped me as a client. Prior, I had little contact with an actual accountant and more with a trainee/junior during my time with them. No accountability or communication when asked why. Do yourself a favour and pay for a more premium service. Sharks, now obligated to pay penalties due to them abruptly ending my service. AVOID! "

But as soon as I had a tax investigation they dropped me like a ton of bricks immediately; adding only to the stress and worry of an already harrowing time.So "buyer beware" they are only good when the going is good; pity you if you have an investigation (which a lot of people or companies will do over a lifetime of trading). "
