DMJPS had prepared my father's taxes for decades, so I decided to use them to prepare my father's final taxes after he passed. I figured it would be easy since Jonathan should know my father's situation.Bad decision on my part.Jonathan, Emily, Ashley, Sarah, and their team were repeatedly non-communicative, often ghosting me for weeks and months when I had questions or asked for updates. They made errors on my father's taxes and repeatedly missed their self-imposed deadlines. It seemed like they put the bare minimum effort into their work, and would often give me conflicting excuses for the delays. Only when I got frustrated or angry, and copied senior partners and managers on emails, would they suddenly spring into action. I'll be happy to be done with them. "

Clerical errors and a lack of concern for my business and welfare through DMJ have cost me just shy of 10k in penalties and interest to the IRS. When I notified them that I had received a letter and a lien their response was “this is no big deal and won’t be a problem”. From that point on I’ve been doing nothing but trying to understand and then ultimately pay for the mistakes made during the final year I used them for my tax accounting. No further responses from DMJ regarding my case after I brought this to their attention and asked for help so the assumption I can make is they don’t care. If that’s the kind of accounting firm you’re looking for, this is a good choice for you. For me, not so much. "

This firm is not worth dealing with. I told them to take the over priced service out of my taxes which they did not. $750.00 for something I could've got from H&R block or turbo tax for free. I thought because I was doing lease purchase for 2 months of the year last year I needed a tax firm. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY! Good taxes services would let you know that u don't need to use them, but not this tax firm they will take your money gladly and take advantage of your ignorance about your taxes instead of educating you on what you should do. "

I would give them zero stars if I could. WORST ACCOUNTING FIRM with extremely careless staff. I've had to educate them on the tax code in certain cases, they never answer questions in a timely manner, tax filings were filled with mistakes, billing and technology is the worst and they charge an exorbitant rate and fees. I have had a business for over 5 years and worked with many firms in different parts of the country, but in all honesty: AVOID THIS FIRM.I was contacted by the management soon after this review, and they did do their best to rectify the issue and compensate us financially. I appreciate their intent and truthfulness but sadly new mistakes were made during that process too which makes it difficult for me to change the star rating of my review. My final suggestion is, if you plan to work with this firm, do an interview with a few of their accountants and pick someone you trust. "
