Ed Wilkin, CPA and Ed Guttenplan, CPA established Wilkin & Guttenplan, P.C., a full-service accounting firm. “Two Eds are better than one. That’s what we said when we were starting out,” says Guttenplan, Managing Shareholder of the firm, “from the beginning, we met working together and believed there was a better way to treat and work with staff, and our vision grew stronger over the years and is still at the forefront today.”

WG grew the practice and staff using talent as the main criteria, not hours worked or days in a seat. This approach opened the talent pool and allowed for parents to have a better work-life balance.
 
The Firm took advantage of another opportunity and decided to purchase the property in New Jersey where the Firm’s headquarters are located today. With a strong bank and the expertise of our partners, WG received final Township approval, constructed the building and took occupancy in mid-1986.

The firm today has grown from 2 guys sitting on the floor creating a business plan in 1983 to today having an unlimited work options policy with over 130+ professionals working from multiple states. The firm is highly diversified, with 12 practice groups and clients all over the country.
