I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Boyle, Deveny & Meyer. When I first met with their CPA, I was told my tax preparation fee would be about $100 more than what I paid my previous accountant. That seemed reasonable given that they are a larger firm.What I did not expect was a bill that was $725 higher than that estimate. I was never given a written quote or a fee schedule. This lack of transparency feels misleading at best and deceptive at worst.I sent a formal letter to Boyle, Deveny & Meyer expressing my concerns about their billing practices and received no response whatsoever. That kind of disregard for clients is unacceptable.In the end, I paid what I was quoted—last year’s fee plus $100—and they cashed the check without issue. I would strongly caution others to get everything in writing and be very careful when dealing with this firm.

I first contacted BDM on 1/17/2025 about doing my taxes. Two weeks later on 1/30/2025 I had a short conversation with an employee who asked me basic onboard info and he said that an accountant would reach out in 3 weeks to start my taxes. Today, on 2/18/2025 I received an email from the firm saying that they aren't taking on new clients and wishing me luck. This puts me in a difficult situation finding a new accountant this late into the season. It is also highly unprofessional to string me along for a full month just to tell me they aren' taking on new clients. So to recap:1. 1/17/2025 I contact BDM.2. 1/30/2025 BDM calls me to ask me basic onboard questions. I'm told that an accountant will reach out in 3 weeks to do my taxes.3. 2/18/2025 I receive an email saying they're not taking on new clients, even though they told me last month they would.Find an accountant who respects your time, because this firm certainly does not.

BEWARE OF THIS FIRM: Mike Williams was our CPA, and he misfiled our companies return as his email to us confirms by both sloppiness and no attention to detail. This mistake cost us a lot of money in penalties and interest. And his flippant and arrogant response... "mistakes happen" [see his response below] His firm should have paid the penalties and interest. But guess what they refused. Zero ethics and Zero integrity."Mistakes happen. Sometimes pages [1099's] get stuck together in fax’s or omitted from scanned documents. If I could give 0 stars I would. Leslie McEwen mishandled my taxes as a new small business owner for two years. It was incredibly expensive for not just poor but damaging service. I don't usually write negative reviews, but my experience was so negative, and had negative consequences to our family finances, that I feel I should warn other people in our community of this potential with them. We ended up paying huge unanticipated tax bills at the end of each year after being assured by Leslie that she was making quarterly payments and taking business expenses into account appropriately on my behalf since I have fluxing income. I stopped paying for 3 months at the end of our service with them and my bill was $5,400. Then I received $95 dollar bill after being assured that was our final bill. They also farm business out to other accounting firms they partner with. I have found trustworthy and organized help elsewhere for a fraction of the cost. I wish I had left sooner.
