Shuhad Shambille Review from Google

I've had a great experience working with Identity Marketing. My account manager, Ivan, is consistently responsive and does excellent work — always on top of things and easy to communicate with. The whole team has been great to work with, and I'd highly recommend them.

My experience with Identity Dental Marketing was overall very poor and I do not recommend doing business with them. You begin the process with an inquiry first on their website, then meet the owner, Grace, and then off they go on a sales pitch. Literally will “nickel and dime” you for everything. I had a small project needing to be completed for my dental office portfolio and I was just not that impressed with her or her team. It felt very disorganized and overpriced for what they were offering versus what I needed. They could not meet my expectations and I strongly recommend seeking other options for marketing needs other than this company.

My office has been working with Identity for years! We previously used several other companies with lots of issues. Identity is very organized and great with communications. Any concerns or changes in marketing strategy or website are taken care of immediately. We consistently rank the highest in our area for SEO. Highly recommend!

7 FAQs About Dental Answer Engine Optimization Agencies
How much do dental AEO services cost?
Dental AEO services cost between $750 and $5,000 per month, depending on whether you are a single-location practice and whether your practice requires heavier content or multi-location optimization. Most dental AEO agencies include AI visibility work into the SEO retainer, rather than pricing it as a separate offering.
The pricing can also be affected by:
Competition in your local market: Competitive markets demand more aggressive content, keyword targeting, and link-building.
Website size: Multi-location practices cost more to optimize, since each location needs its own set of AI-extractable answers.
Content volume: AEO needs quality, answer-first structure for better citability.
Content depth: Procedures, insurance questions, and safety claims entail extra review time for accuracy.
Review and reputation management: Since AI tools increasingly pull from review platforms, reputation monitoring is required.
What do dental AEO companies charge that most practices don't expect?
Many dental AEO companies bill content writing, schema implementation, and reputation monitoring as add-ons outside the base retainer.
Other “hidden fees” include:
Clinical content review: Having a licensed professional review the content for accuracy before publishing.
Schema markup for procedures and providers: FAQ, Medical Procedure, and Physician schema require developer time.
Multi-location duplication work: Adapting the same answer for five locations isn't free; each one needs unique local detail to avoid looking templated.
HIPAA-compliance: Any AI-assisted content workflow touching patient data needs compliant infrastructure, which some agencies charge as a separate cost.
How do I know if my practice's AEO strategy is underperforming?
Your dental AEO strategy is underperforming if ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google's AI Overviews rarely mention your practice when answering questions your patients would ask.
To get an accurate analysis, run this quick diagnostic:
Ask the questions your patients would commonly ask: Try 15-20 queries: "how much does Invisalign cost," "is a dental crown covered by insurance," "best pediatric dentist in [your city]." Run each across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google.
Check who gets cited instead of you: If a competitor's blog or a directory site keeps showing up, their content is simply easier for AI to extract and trust.
Look for stale information: If AI does mention your practice, verify it isn't quoting an old phone number, discontinued service, or outdated pricing.
Read your content like a patient: AI models favor plain, factual answers over persuasive copy that says nothing specific.
It’s important to consider that traditional SEO rankings won't reveal this gap. You have to query the AI platforms directly and track how often, and how accurately, you're mentioned.
Should I hire a specialist AEO agency for dental clinics or a generalist one?
If attracting new patients through AI search is your priority, the best dental AEO services can help you achieve better results.
Dental AEO requires accurate, trustworthy content that reflects common patient questions, local search intent, and the treatments your practice offers. An agency familiar with dental marketing is more likely to understand how patients search for services like dental implants, Invisalign, emergency dentistry, or cosmetic procedures.
A specialist agency is also better equipped to optimize provider profiles, location pages, treatment content, and data that help AI search engines understand your practice.
That said, a generalist AEO agency can still be a good fit if it has a proven process and dental experience.
What content gives dental clinics the best chance of being cited by AI?
Treatment pages, provider profiles, pricing information, and patient FAQs give dental clinics the best chance of being cited by AI platforms.
AI search engines favor content that directly answers the questions patients ask before choosing a dentist. The highest-value content includes:
Treatment pages: Explain procedures, candidacy, recovery time, risks, and expected outcomes.
Provider profiles: Highlight dentists' qualifications, specialties, certifications, and experience.
Pricing and insurance information: Answer common questions about treatment costs, financing, and accepted insurance plans.
Patient FAQs: Cover topics like dental emergencies, aftercare, appointment preparation, and treatment timelines.
Location pages: Include office hours, contact details, service areas, and location-specific information for each practice.
Keeping this content accurate and up to date is just as important as publishing it. AI platforms are more likely to cite pages that reflect current services, providers, and patient information.
Which AI platforms should AEO companies for dentists target first?
A dental answer engine optimization agency should prioritize Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT first, but the two behave very differently depending on whether a query is informational or local.
This distinction lies in:
Informational queries("how much does a root canal cost," "is teeth whitening safe") are AI Overview territory. Healthcare is now one of the highest-coverage categories in AI Overviews, appearing on 88-89% of healthcare queries.
"Near me" and provider-choice queries are not. Google has deliberately pulled AI Overviews back from local, provider-selection searches; that's now Maps and local-pack territory.
ChatGPT is where local recommendations are given. 45% of consumers use ChatGPT and similar tools for local business recommendations.
Perplexity is a smaller platform, but worth considering. It skews toward research-minded users comparing providers or treatment options in detail.
Will dental AEO replace SEO, or do I need both?
No, dental AEO won't replace SEO, because AI platforms still rely on the same underlying signals SEO builds: crawlable pages, credible authority, and well-organized content.
AEO adds a layer on top of that foundation. It's the difference between being findable and being quotable.
Practices that skip the SEO foundation and jump straight to "AI optimization" usually stall, because there's nothing trustworthy underneath for the AI to point to.
