HireInfluence addressed all of our influencer marketing questions when we called. Although our budget was lower than the requirement, we now have a clear picture of how to proceed. Thanks Jason!

This is a terrible company and certainly does not care about it's customers or helping brands. I called to speak with a representative of the company and without even talking with me about my needs, they reply by saying "we are not interested in working with you" and then hung up. It was very unprofessional and just shows how much they value the people that are paying their bills. I would not ever recommend reaching out to this company or consider using them in any capacity.
- in response to your company’s reply: since I cannot reply to your response. I will add to my original review. The fact that you want to try and play it off as if I called the wrong number is almost as comical as you guys having someone go leave a fake positive review after I left a negative review about your company. You’ve never received a single review on your company for the entirety of you being in business and then somehow one hour after I left a negative review you magically have someone leave a positive review try and refute what I said. I will attach a photo of my outgoing call to the number on your website showing I did indeed call and talk to one of your representatives who is out collecting any data on what we were hoping to hire you for, tell me they are not interested in working with our company.

# Big Fish PR Review
**Holy crap, where do I even start with Big Fish PR.**
As VP of Her ALS Story, I’ve been around the block with agencies, and let me tell you - what Big Fish did for our Warrior Weekend was absolutely unreal.
These people are MAGIC. Like, I’m not even exaggerating. When we first talked to them about the Warrior Weekend, I could tell they immediately understood what we were trying to do. This isn’t just another event for us - it’s about bringing together warriors in the ALS fight and giving them a space to connect, heal, and find strength. And Big Fish? They got that from minute one.
The media coverage they landed for us was insane. We’re talking major publications - the kind of outlets that usually don’t give smaller nonprofits the time of day. But somehow Big Fish made our story irresistible to them. Every pitch felt strategic, every story placement felt meaningful. They didn’t just spray and pray with press releases. They crafted our narrative in a way that made editors actually care.
What blew me away was how they made our Warrior Weekend feel like THE event everyone needed to know about. The buzz they created wasn’t just noise - it was the right kind of attention that brought in the right people and resources.
But here’s the thing that really got me: they never made it feel transactional. Every conversation, every strategy session, every brainstorm felt like we were working with people who genuinely gave a damn about our mission. They celebrated our wins like they were their own family’s wins.
If you’re looking for a PR team that will fight for your cause like it’s their own, call Big Fish immediately. Don’t walk, RUN. These people are the real deal, and I can’t recommend them highly enough.
**Trust me on this one.

I’ve been building brands for 15 years and have worked with many PR partners, but none have impressed me like BIG FISH. Their strategy, communication, processes, and talent for building relationships with publishers and media is unmatched. In just a few months, they landed major placements for Adoorn in Architectural Digest, Oprah, and Real Simple. Highly recommend!

What services do these types of companies typically offer in the US?
They typically offer the following core services:Â
Direct mail marketing campaigns: Targeted physical mail that still delivers some of the highest response rates among marketing channels, with an average response rate around 4.4% versus 0.12% for email.Â
Telemarketing: Outreach via phone calls to generate leads, sales, or market feedback; 45% of businesses still consider telemarketing an effective lead conversion strategy.Â
Email marketing: Sending targeted emails to subscriber lists to promote products and nurture relationships; 89% of marketers say email is their primary lead-generation channel.
SMS/text marketing: Short text message promotions sent directly to mobile users; SMS messages have an exceptionally high 98% open rate and over half of consumers find them useful.Â
Direct selling support: Campaigns designed to initiate immediate purchase responses from targeted audiences. Examples include list rentals, offer fulfillment, personalization, and tracking.Â
How much do direct marketing companies in the United States cost?
Typically, the cost ranges from a few thousand dollars for small businesses to $50,000 or more for large-scale campaigns, depending on campaign size, channel mix, data usage, and the level of personalization involved.Â
Unlike some digital services, direct marketing agencies rarely publish standalone hourly rates.Â
Instead, pricing is most often based on project fees, retainers, or per-unit campaign costs, which provide clearer and more verifiable benchmarks.Â
Pricing model
Typical cost range
What it usually covers
Project-based pricing
$3,000-$50,000+ per campaign
Strategy, creative, list management, execution, and reporting for one-off or time-bound campaigns
Monthly retainer
$1,500-$10,000+ per month
Ongoing direct marketing management, optimization, and reporting
Per-unit campaign costs (direct mail)
$0.30-$1.00+ per mail piece
Printing, postage, and mailing (agency fees usually billed separately)
Telemarketing programs
$25-$75+ per hour or per-call pricing
Call labor, scripting, and lead qualification
Hourly billing is less common in direct marketing, but some agencies use this model for planning, segmentation, or analytics. Â
When used, rates typically align with broader US marketing agency benchmarks, with industry data indicating a reference range of $100-$150 per hour.Â
How long does it typically take to see measurable campaign results?
Timelines vary by channel, with measurable results typically appearing within a few weeks to a few months.Â
Email and SMS campaigns often show initial engagement within days, with simpler efforts gaining traction in 1-2 weeks. Â
Direct mail responses are usually seen over several weeks, with performance commonly evaluated after 6-8 weeks.Â
Multi-channel campaigns that combine email, SMS, direct mail, or telemarketing often take 1-3 months to show consistent results. Â
Longer-term ROI trends, such as improvements in cost efficiency, repeat conversions, and customer lifetime value, may become clearer over 3-6 months as campaigns are refined and scaled.Â
Which marketing channels are most effective today?
Email marketing: Effective due to its scale and personalization, with segmented campaigns generating higher revenue than non-segmented sends.Â
Direct mail: Physical mail is effective because it creates strong brand recall and is more memorable than many digital formats, especially when paired with online channels. According to CompereMedia, 85% of marketers agree direct mail delivers the best conversion rate of all channels they use, up from 74% in 2023.Â
SMS marketing: Widely used for its immediacy, with many consumers preferring text messages for transactional or time-sensitive brand communications.Â
Telemarketing: Plays a role in complex or high-value sales, particularly in B2B, where live conversations support qualification and relationship building. As research suggests, 45% of businesses still consider telemarketing an effective strategy for lead conversion.Â
Multi-channel direct marketing: Campaigns that integrate multiple direct channels drive higher engagement by reinforcing consistent messaging across touchpoints.Â
Why should businesses invest in this approach instead of relying on mass advertising?
Direct marketing companies offer businesses a more targeted and measurable alternative to mass advertising.Â
Targeted audience reach: Direct marketing focuses on specific customer segments rather than broad exposure, improving message relevance and reducing wasted spend, which helps businesses allocate budgets more efficiently.Â
Clear performance tracking: Agencies design campaigns to generate direct responses, making it easier to evaluate which messages, channels, and audiences are driving results.Â
Greater control and flexibility: Businesses can test and refine messaging, offers, and targeting based on real campaign feedback. Changes can be made quickly without waiting for long campaign cycles.Â
More predictable outcomes: The ability to measure and adjust campaigns in real time leads to more consistent and manageable results compared with mass advertising, which reduces uncertainty and improves planning accuracy.Â
