I worked with M+P about 4-5 years ago and had a great experience. I was brought in for an interview, was contacted multiple times throughout the process about jobs and ended up in a position that lasted up until last year. The staff was super helpful and personable. They even sent me a card on my birthday.I don't know if it's due to COVID or staff changes, but when I reached out in October, I had a completely different experience. The recruiter I was matched with missed multiple phone screen meetings with me and couldn't manage to call my correct phone number. (not someone you want in your corner when searching for a job)I was moved to someone else and did an initial phone screen, and I haven't heard from anyone from M+P in almost 4 months. This is disappointing since they really brand themselves as being different from most recruitment agencies, and in my past experience this was the case. So far, I haven't gotten even a status update.I understand the job market is much different now than it was a few years ago, but from a customer service perspective, I am not impressed with how I've been treated this time around. Now that I've been ghosted, I can add M+P to the list of agencies that see me as a number and not a person. "

It has occurred to me that these agencies do not help people of color as much as they do the rest. I have submitted my materials to their website several times, spoke a human once, and after several emails, got a response after 4 months. A quick conversation, and then another drop off. We are not the priority, because our placements do not profit them. For a town that claims to give folks of color opportunities, I do not see that reflected at any of the companies I've visited. I hope this is able to at least start a dialog about how broken the recruiting/hiring process in this town is. "
