When we relocated our business from Chicago to Portland, Maine in 1996, we were concerned we wouldn't be able to find a local accounting firm with the kind of big-city wherewithal which we were accustomed to receive. That concern unfortunately proved to be true. So in 2000, when we were frustrated to a point where we needed to find one more CPA company, we were introduced to Purdy Powers.From Day One with our new accounting partner, our outlook regarding that genre changed. We experienced what "personalized service" really means. Co-owner Marc Powers has continually been our go-to-guy, now for more than a decade, even though his business has continually grown while we've had to downsize. Marc and his people don't just file taxes for us and pontificate about what must be done to deal with today's ever-changing tax laws and demands. They totally watch out for us.On a number of occasions during our first few years with Purdy Powers, Marc found that our previous accounting firm did not arrange for us to get tax returns which we deserved.
