The professional business development team for Straightin got my attention immediately, in a sea of cold contacts from LinkedIn. So they got the first meeting with me. I mean, I met them, I figure they might be able to get me set up with meetings too!Once I met with them and was introduced to other real people who would care for my LinkedIn connections as much as I do, while I do my work, it helped me to get past my fear of someone else representing me on the most important platform for my profession.I signed up for 12 months. I felt comfortable with them, and I knew that good things take consistency and patience. I was getting meetings right away and met with my account manager (and outreach manager) weekly while we got to know each other, developed my voice, fine-tuned my target audience, and more.In 6 weeks, I was confidently hands-off.By the second month, I was getting more meetings than I could handle (as a doer, owner, employer, and strategist - 4-5 a week was kicking my butt)!By the last week of the third month, I got my first client for a 12-month agreement at twice my usual monthly retainer rate, and $30,000 more than I spent for the full 12-month agreement with Straightin! 3.5 X ROI :-)I have had other projects and made some amazing contacts that have grown my referral network.My Account Manager, Kailey, sends me reports every Monday, communicates each booked or curious lead ASAP, meets with me every two weeks, and prioritizes impromptu meetings based on my occasional need to pivot to a new audience.If you have had "Network more" or "Start cold calling/emailing/DMing" or "Do more than WOM marketing" on your To-Do list for more than 1 year (I bet it's been many years;-), then this is perfect for you.Straightin makes it easy. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!I somehow was convinced that this Linkedin marketing company was going to help me reach my target audience. They wanted a 6 month contract and luckily somehow I had the foresight to ask for a shorter term. In a nutshell, they suck and they don't deliver on ANYTYHING they promise. I had someone start as my contract person. At some point he was no longer with the company and I was not even made aware of it until I noticed that for 10 days there was no activity on my account. I was handed over to someone else who had zero experience in my industry. The pitch emails were so basic and the 8-10 leads a week I was promised were a joke at this point. I couldn't get out of the contract and so I was stuck. I had to tell this guy what industry to reach out to, what to write, how to find th companies and so on. It was just ridiculous at some point. No leads delivered in two months, I gave them many chances - after a handful of silly mistakes on their behalf.On the sales call, before I signed up they explicitly said that if no leads are delivered month on month that I could break the clause, and leave the contract.They try and blame you for their poor service, then try and frame you for the poor quality of service (as seen in their reply below).I started with a "senior account manager" on the 1st call he told me he understood my needs - 1 week in, he was targeting my competitors, and 3 weeks in, the strategy had not clearly been understood, which is what made me very frustrated.(I) then requested to work with someone else, I was then moved to another "Senior account manager" and a very similar service was given.I said I want out, to which I was told I was stuck into a 6 month contract, and there's no way out - to which I threatened legal action.Address the major issues here StraightIn!! Started off on the Boost package - good sales pitch, I was told that If no leads were produced, that I could exit straight away etc, and good first discover meeting - I thought that my account manager has soaked in everything that I said, and this company were going to be different!Week 1 - I find out that they are targeting my competition (which I was warned about by a previous customer).Week 4 - the targeting was way off, so the account manager clearly hadn't been listening to the hour we spent on the discovery call.Week 6 - I was moved to another account manager who said they would be able to produce me 4 leads by the month end (3 weeks) this did not happen.Week 8 - I emailed to cancel - she told me that I was tied into a 6 month contract (going back on their words).These guys are the same as every other poor leads agency. Seriously poor delivery!Further-more to this, when I did suggest I was stopping working with them, they asked for payment upfront for the remainder of the period (4 months) - even though they did not deliver any leads!!
