Leanware built the mobile MVP of our AI fitness assistant for iOS and Android. It started with discovery workshops that sharpened the product vision and shaped an MVP roadmap prioritizing launch features while leaving room for expansions like avatars and real-time feedback. They developed a conversational AI engine with custom prompt and context engineering tailored to fitness conversations, one that keeps continuity across sessions, remembers user progress and preferences, and keeps health guidance within safety standards. On top of that they implemented photo-based food recognition, smart search that understands fitness intent, personalized recommendations, progress tracking with AI-generated insights and coaching suggestions, and gamified response formats that make AI answers easy to read, plus the scalable backend behind it all. Their consultation saved us an estimated 20 to 30 percent in costs by avoiding unnecessary complexity, and we launched a functional MVP across the app stores in under eight weeks, faster than planned. Project management was exceptional: clear timelines, on-schedule delivery, and proactive communication via Slack, with expert recommendations guiding decisions rather than every choice being pushed back to us. Their technical skill and creativity made the whole thing feel less like hiring a vendor and more like building with a co-founder.

Leanware delivered two significant projects for our e-commerce platform along with a steady stream of smaller fixes and enhancements. They built a new employee management page in our back office so our customers can create accounts, set permissions, and link employees to entities on their own, and when our mobile app's chat functionality needed replicating in the back office, they built a custom chat and messaging React library from scratch, integrated seamlessly with our design system and existing bespoke solution. Along the way they worked comfortably across Next.js, React, React Native, Apollo, GraphQL, and Hasura, and adapted to our implicit conventions. We ran week-long SCRUM sprints with check-ins three times a week, and they consistently hit the sprint goals on time; even when we needed hard pivots mid-sprint, they adapted without losing pace. As the engagement progressed they increasingly took the lead, asking well-informed questions and offering suggestions on code, product, and design that genuinely enriched the outcomes. What impressed us most was how swiftly they onboarded: given incomplete product descriptions, they asked the right questions to fill the gaps and picked up our undocumented code patterns without getting stuck on minor details. Leanware has partnered with us since Q4 2023 on two cloud-based mobile apps for iOS and Android, one built in Flutter and one in React Native, handling development on both and the UI/UX design on one. For one project they staffed a team of five mid-level developers, a senior developer, an architect, and a UX designer available as needed. They also took over an app that was unstable and nowhere near production-ready and turned it into a stable, solid product I'm genuinely proud to show. Their processes leave nothing to chance and the code that comes out of them is excellent; they've been flexible and thorough throughout. They meet deadlines, keep their promises, and are careful about what they commit to. The whole team has been great, and Alvaro, their Technical Product Manager, deserves a special mention for being remarkable. I hired them because they were upfront about what they could and couldn't do, and that honesty, together with the tremendous quality of their work, is what separates them from other providers. Both are getting harder to find these days.
