Zappos is one of the biggest ecommerce retailers in the game, and it has built a dedicated following based on its huge selection of shoes and its dedication to superb customer service. None of this is lost in the Zappos mobile app, which is designed to make the shopping process as seamless on mobile as it is on desktop.
The Zappos app features all the mobile commerce features one would expect from a digitally-native brand like Zappos. It even has a few features one wouldn’t expect, like the option to search for products using emojis. For those not interested in browsing by emoji, there is also a traditional navigation designed to funnel users quickly through a huge variety of product categories. Given the staggering inventory of the Zappos platform, robust filtering features are needed to help keep the browsing process manageable and organized. Users can filter based on nearly every conceivable product attribute -- from size to width, style, occasion, heel height, and so on. Product pages feature large images and no fewer than six alternate product views as well as videos for most products.
The homescreen of the app also helpfully highlights customer service options, and even displays estimated wait times for each form of communication. Users can also tap to call and get in touch with a customer service associate.
The app is designed in a palette of white, gray, and a pastel blue. Illustrations and typography are kept lightweight, and plenty of whitespace gives the eye room to rest while browsing through the extensive Zappos catalog.
Zappos is a cool app design in the e-commerce & retail industry.
