- Project Brief: Create a luxury logo design system that supports Gucci’s cinematic campaign identity through typography, heraldic symbolism, and scalable visual consistency.
A luxury logo design system justifies its ambition when the typography does as much narrative work as the image it sits inside. Affaire's work for Gucci's "La Famiglia" campaign starts in the brand's archives, reviving a custom serif typeface that had been sitting dormant. Pushed to monumental scale, it transforms each frame into something closer to a film card than a fashion photograph.
Massive, cream-toned typographic compositions slice across the subjects with the confidence of a design decision that has nothing to prove. A condensed "LA FAMIGLIA" cinematic masthead anchors the top of each frame, and the two elements hold their tension without either one overwhelming the other.
All 37 distinct character archetypes carry a meticulously detailed custom heraldic crest at the foot of the image, featuring an armored knight, a Gucci banner and floral brackets. The crest adapts its layout fluidly from a social media grid to a Times Square billboard without losing its authority at any size.
A neutral, vintage-toned gray background gives the monumental type scale room to operate. Affaire builds a visual system that carries the weight of a century-old house and the momentum of a campaign that knows exactly what it is.
