- Project Brief: Create an outdoor billboard campaign that uses candid, everyday situations to communicate iPhone durability through bold and unexpected imagery.
A billboard for a phone almost always shows the phone at its most pristine, lit like jewelry. Apple flips that with "Relax, It's iPhone," shooting the device mid-disaster instead, clamped in a dog's slobbering mouth or soaked under a downpour.
The disaster is the durability claim. Rather than list an IP water rating or drop spec, each scene stages the exact moment an owner would panic, then lets the two-word "relax" carry the reassurance.
The scale turns the joke into a spectacle. Blown up to full building height, a spaniel with a phone in its teeth or a toddler smearing puree across the lenses reads from blocks away and rewards a second look up close.
Apple keeps the layout as spare as ever, just the line, the image, and the logo, so the mess never looks like a mistake. The risk of that candor showed in Milan, where the toddler billboard came down fast over worries it normalized handing a kid a phone to keep quiet.
