  • Project Brief: Create entertainment print design that promotes the upcoming Street Fighter movie by adding the franchise’s signature orange lettering to familiar London street signs.

Entertainment print that hijacks the everyday street sign needs almost no new design to work. The Street Fighter movie campaign from Paramount UK adds one word to signs people already know, turning “Oxford Street” into “Oxford Street Fighter” with a single flick of orange.

The approach is pure guerrilla marketing. By latching onto real street signs in high-traffic spots like Oxford Street and Downing Street, the campaign reaches people in the wild and rewards anyone who notices, rather than paying for a standard billboard.

The trick lives in the type choice. The franchise’s signature slashing orange “Fighter” sits under each official sign, so the game’s logo reads as if it always belonged there.

The familiar locations carry the joke worldwide. London’s best-known streets and even Temple Street in Hong Kong become the setup, letting any passerby complete the title in their head.

The restraint is what sells it. The original signs stay untouched beneath the add-on, so the gag plays as ambient advertising where the sign itself becomes the ad, and the movie’s name lands without a hard pitch.
