  • Project Brief: Create a fashion commercial that positions comfort as a source of confidence through unexpected athlete casting, runway-inspired visuals, and concise storytelling.

A commercial video sells a feeling before it sells a product. Tommy John's fall 2026 spot', "Own Your Comfort," directed by Colton Underwood, casts NFL linemen Landon Dickerson, Ted Karras, and Tristan Wirfs, then drops them onto a high-fashion runway.

The whole thing runs on contrast, with 300-pound athletes lit like couture models. A string quartet and champagne guests frame the runway while the players walk it barefoot in nothing but boxer briefs.

The gag works because the production plays it straight. It treats the linemen as models rather than a punchline, which lets the comfort-equals-confidence pitch read as sincere instead of ironic.

The 31-second edit moves fast, cutting from the football snap to the runway strut without dead air. The concept rests almost entirely on the casting, so a viewer who misses the players sees a well-shot but otherwise ordinary underwear ad.
