A World With No Heroes: Ghost Recon Wildlands Creative Homepage

Welcome to the biggest action-adventure open world ever created. Are you ready for an immersive experience that puts you at the heart of a narrative that involves drug dealers, corrupt cops and rebel forces? We know we are.

A World with No Heroes is a campaign website that was created to promote the launch of a new UBISOFT game, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands. Fifty surveillance cameras allow you to explore the stunning Bolivian landscape which has become a narco-state run by the Santa Blanca Cartel.

Spoiler alert: there are more than eight hours of teaser content packed in a format that is so engaging that it captures you from the first gunfire.

From the moment you land on the site, the duo of an animated video and a narrative set the tone of the entire experience. The cartoons-like game characters are paired with images of striking realism. The images transit through aerial views of the mountains and the jungle. But, the image of an idyllic land is suddenly disrupted by gunshots. Less than a few seconds on this page and you’re already eager to learn more. That’s how you build a homepage that draws visitors in, instantly. Great visuals deliver high value while the sound dimension adds a whole new layer of awesomeness to the entire experience. What’s more, the sound will stop once you switch tabs. Talk about a comprehensive UX that takes into account more than the time spent on page.

A World With No Heroes: Ghost Recon Wildlands Creative Website Design

A World with No Heroes is a location-based concept with a focus on user experience. Obviously, the map had to be one of the first elements to load. To avoid the risk of an abrupt transition, you “dive” from the clouds once you hit the “Enter the Map” button.

A World With No Heroes: Ghost Recon Wildlands Engaging Website Design

One of the things that make A World with No Heroes so engaging is that instead of a static map, the designers focused on injecting life into every element. For example, they’ve added shadows to every scene to give more information about the depth and position of the objects and amplify their realism. Or, when the night falls you can notice car's’ headlights just as you would expect in real life.

A World With No Heroes: Ghost Recon Wildlands Immersive Animations

This platform is all about delivering an immersive experience so there should be no surprise that there are a lot of entertaining visuals, such as videos, maps, and graphs that almost make you forget that you are browsing a web page. With data visualization at the heart of this website’s concept, users have to collect intel about the Santa Blanca Carter, a corrupt military force, and the rebels. You do that through a variety of cameras that add fun and intrigue to the story.

You have to click on the target to identify it and collect intel about it. As you progress in the game, a second map will reveal info about cocaine traffic, the money earned by the cartel, and the number of people who have been killed, and the cost of a human life. All these maps are streamed in real-time from the video game.
