CSI Accounting may try to spin this by saying they offered me a new accountant or that taking onboarding fees from my account—after our relationship was terminated—was warranted. It was not.The truth: I received no tax advice, no business guidance, and no real onboarding. The only thing they provided was payroll, which I paid for separately. My assigned tax person came to our meeting without reviewing my file, admitted to being new to the systems, and openly struggled to use them.Charging me for this is indefensible. Withholding services, then helping themselves to my business account after termination, destroyed any trust. Whatever they claim, the fact is simple: I paid for services I never received.I hired CSI Accounting to support my business with the expectation of receiving high-quality service based on their confident promises. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. Despite the strong sales pitch, they failed to deliver on key aspects of their service.When I raised concerns and requested a fair negotiation regarding payment for services that were never rendered, they abruptly ended our relationship “effective immediately.” I then began formally disputing those charges through my American Express account. Rather than respond to the dispute in good faith or allow the process to play out, CSI took an entirely inappropriate step: they bypassed the dispute process and directly accessed my business checking account—without my consent—to withdraw the same funds.This withdrawal occurred more than a week after our business relationship had already been terminated and without any form of authorization from me. I did not give permission for this transaction, and their actions represent a serious breach of both trust and professional ethics.

I have used CSI for all of my payroll, bookkeeping and accounting needs for over one year now. I also use them for my taxes, both personal and business.I really appreciate the fact that it is all in one company. They all work as a team and support each other in their roles. Burt, my accountant, has been instrumental in my growing business, taking the time to really hear my concerns and answer all of my questions. He provides me with insightful ways to save money and build up my business. Alex, our payroll specialist, is spectacular. Alex manages a very very complex payroll (everchanging) with such grace and support. Bert, our payroll specialist supervisor is awesome, and jumps in when needed. My books are always concise, thank you, Erin, and questions needing answers are relayed to me in a way that works for my busy schedule. I would recommend CSI to any business looking for that type of personable and knowledgeable support for your growing business. Thank you, CSI. Here is to another year of growth!

We were very disappointed with our experience when we had our taxes done here last year. The cost was outrageous and the service was poor.They are aware that some Mayo employees get reimbursed $600 for the cost of tax preparation and charge these people $750. If you qualify for this reimbursement, I recommend negotiating the price before they are aware of this. We found out after the fact that this benefit is taxed, so the out-of-pocket cost is much larger than the $150 we had expected. There is nothing complicated about our taxes to justify this cost (W-2, student loan tax forms, mortgage interest, etc.).Despite the outrageous cost, we decided to go with them last year because we thought we would get a higher level of service and advice on how we can minimize our tax liability in the future. The service was, unfortunately, very poor. They provided no advice for future tax seasons and didn't respond to our emails when we had questions about how to pay the taxes that we owed. We resorted to calling a friend who works in taxes.Terrible service at 5 times the price. Do not recommend.

I had no idea that I was missing out on tax refunds from previous years that I was entitled to until I talked with Steve Warren at SDK! On a chance meeting with Steve, following disappointing results with a former accountancy firm, I reached out to him. Steve confirmed that I should have received tax refunds from previous years. He "went to work" and proved to be helpful in explaining what needed to be done and with his diligence, research and smart ideas recovered one large refund check and is working on obtaining a second one for me - in short order!I am also working with Steve with both financial and non financial aspects of my estate plan that I am currently putting together. Steve has once again proven to be very knowledgeable, creative and invaluable in my estate planning. I feel fortunate to have "found him"!

I worked with nancy lehrman who works with SDK since the merger of SDK and Leherman Flom and Lehrman in handling my mothers estate, my grandmothers estate and my personal taxes. while handling my mothers estate she worked with lehrman flom and lerhman which was absorbed into sdk. The funny thing is I did not know this until long after fact. which is amusing considering the tens of thousands of dollars that I was paying to Nancy to handle closing the estates of both my mother and grandmother, you would have thunk that deserved a phone call or email, but I didn't get one, this is a reacurring theme with my experience with both Nancy and SDK.She mis filed my personal taxes for 2015 for the state of minnesota resulting in a fine that I had to pay, and went awol towards the end of 2016 through out 2017 while handling my grandmothers estate on both the state and federal level. My grandmothers estate could have been closed by the end of 2016/ early 2017. However, since Nancy completely abdicated her professional responsibilities the eventual closure of the estate did not happen until late winter spring 2018 close to two and a half year after my grandmother passed.I personally went through a difficult time. My family was small consisting of my mother, her sister, and my grandmother. within 13 months I lost both my mother and then my grandmother in that order and I was coming to the grips that at the age of 32 I was pretty much completely alone, without any family in my life. the ammount of work that I needed Nancy to do by the end of 2016 would have taken hours at the most. yet she did not complete this work until winter 2018, further delaying the closure during an extremely difficult time of my life.I am saying this because it is not about money, it is about transformation and trying to get over difficult times. yes I paid nancy a lot of money to handle my families business and yes I expect a certain amount of attention because I am spending that money. Thisis a completely reasonable expectation of a service. after receiving only 3 or 4 responses to countless phone calls and emails over a 18 month period of time I really started to get angry.the problem is Nancy doesn't care, SDK doesn't care, they will tell you that they are accountable and responsible until you shine a light on their fallacies. once that happens they will hide in their cave until you go away. I tried to air my grievances with a managing partner at sdk. I left many messages, never received a response. this is a symptom of a culture amongst this organization.If you are looking for dependable and responsible accountants to handle your financial affairs. I recommend you avoid SDK at all costs.since parting ways with nancy and sdk I went to Abdo EICK AND MEYERS LLP. My experience has been great. check them out.
