For a new business owner, issues of business plans, financing, and product timelines were a lot to juggle. Branding is way outside my expertise. I had been mulling over the name for my yet-to-be-created publishing company for a few months. When I finally narrowed down the options, I knew what I had to do next - give Gavin a call and get his expert advice. Gavin listened very carefully. He provided insightful advice and helped me work through the rationale for selecting the brand name. In the end, it was none of the options on my list, but a variation of one. It is a clever connection of books to trees, and the tree that I had much fascination with, the famous Torrey Pine tree in La Jolla CA - the town in which the idea was born. I was so happy with it: Storrey Pine LLC. Shortly after my call, I completed a brand brief for the logo design. The brief was very simple to complete and allowed me to provide my preferences for the logo, including pictures of the true Torrey pine cones. A few weeks later, I had a slide deck in hand with nine logo options, each with its own name for easy reference, created by Bhupesh, a very talented designer. They were all strikingly beautiful - each had captured the natural beauty and majesty of the Torrey pine cone. I had a call with Gavin, who walked me through each of the images and helped me understand the design considerations - balance, symmetry, typography, and the ability for the logo to display well in black and white. I selected 2 designs from the deck for further development, along with a request for some modifications. Bhupesh did some experiments on the designs and provided a rationale for what would and would not work. The logo which I finally selected for development is called "Coniferous" and uses the print-block technique, where the pine cone and the nib are traditional while the print is modern. Next, Bhupesh very thoughtfully put together a “creative explorations” slide deck with some mockups of the logo applied to a business card, letterhead, books, and a tote bag to give me a sense of how my logo would look in real world settings. Finally, I received my brand identity kit with high-resolution images of the logo for print and business cards, as well as images for social media. Gavin and Bhupesh delivered a very high-quality product with creativity, professionalism, and thoughtful attention to detail. They are masters of their space and their art. I am delighted with the brand name and logo for my company.

I am an employee who cannot log into my account. The operator refused to help me, said I need to contact my manager(I don't know who that is) or respond to the email I got. I responded 3 days ago and no response. There is no name on that email and the number I tried calling gets disconnected. The operator said "I don't know what else to tell me, good luck" AND LITERALLY HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!! THAT IS NO WAY TO TREAT AN EMPLOYEE OR CUSTOMER

They placed an Ad on Craigslist recruiting people to do voice data collection for one of their products that uses siri. They Advertised they will pay $60. Every time you ask them about the money, They start trying to use a secret they think they know about you to avoid paying. They sent me about 8 forms to fill out for the $60 including the I-9 form and a w-2 form for $60. I was scheduled to be there at 9am for the study and was on time. They said 12 to 15 business days for $60. I filled papers and sent them. As I was approaching the building something was like this company be killing people and their a front for a government agency. I ignored it cause I needed the $60. I sent the paper work Oct 29th and received an email on Nov 15 saying I need to resubmit the papers. I am suppose to be receiving the money by Nov 19. IM I suppose to wait another 12-15 business days? This company is preying on people who are low on cash and participate to get cash. These people got my ss#, is picture, and voice recording that They alter and use for something else. I want my $60. UPDATE: I did receive a gift card but to AMAZON. When I signed up they stated they pay cash either through direct deposit, cash app, or visa master gift card/ nothing about any amazon. I wanted cash, like they said they would pay.

Unfortunately, my experience with JAF Digital didn’t meet expectations. As a small business owner in the wellness space, I was looking for a more strategic, hands-on partnership, to assit me with Meta advertising — one where the team would take initiative to monitor and optimize ad performance, offer guidance, and keep me updated without me needing to constantly follow up. Instead, I found myself chasing updates and struggling to get clarity on what was working. There were also significant missteps that directly impacted my business. The ad budget was set to $120/day instead of the agreed $50/day, which cost me an extra $490 with ROAS, and I didn’t feel proper accountability was taken for the mistake. After paying, there was also a 10-day delay before any work began, and I only found out the reason (a missing receipt) after following up multiple times. More concerning, my ad account performance actually went backwards. My existing ads — which had been performing — were all turned off and replaced with new ones that underperformed. I also later discovered ads were being targeted in the Philippines, even though my business is based in Melbourne, Australia. Since moving to a new ad agency, they’ve also identified multiple errors in my ad account setup, including spelling mistakes and structural issues that should have been caught earlier. This only confirmed that the attention to detail and strategy just weren’t there. There were some positives. The spreadsheet created for tracking was a good system in theory and Gerly, my project manager, was very lovely and kind to work with. But without proper processes to implement and act on that system, it felt pointless. Overall, while the communication with Gerly personally was kind, the execution and quality of work fell short. After one month, it was clear this wasn’t aligned with the level of service I was seeking. I hope this review helps other business owners make an informed decision.
