Enki Product Development is a consumer hardware consultancy based near Swindon in the United Kingdom. The team is built from former Dyson engineers, with more than 100 years of combined Dyson experience. Around 90 percent of our engineers joined us from Dyson within the last two years.
Most hardware programmes fail in the handovers. A designer passes work to an engineering firm, the firm passes it to a tooling vendor, the vendor passes it to a factory. Every transfer loses intent, adds cost and hides risk until tooling is cut. Enki removes those transfers. The people who shape a concept are the same people who engineer it, cost it for manufacture and place it with the factory.
We work in five stages and can join at any of them. Discover: market, design and technology research leading to a defensible product definition. Define: concept development through sketches, models and working prototypes. Design: mechanical engineering and detailed CAD that makes the concept work. Develop: design for manufacture, tolerance analysis, cost engineering and compliance support. Deliver: factory sourcing, tooling oversight, quality assurance and first production run support.
Our engineers are named inventors on Dyson products including the Airwrap, Corrale and Air Multiplier, and hold patents granted during their Dyson tenure, with further patents pending on current Enki work. Founder Ben Jones is a First Class Honours product designer and Chartered Mechanical Engineer.
We have worked on more than 80 products, concentrated in home and kitchen, baby and juvenile, personal care, water filtration, air treatment and connected consumer electronics. Clients include HexClad, Rorra, AromaTech, Babylist, Airbotx and Cura.
We suit brands that treat product as central to growth but lack the internal engineering depth to de risk it alone. We translate the engineering, state risk plainly and keep founder effort low.
