Hank Willis Thomas is a Brooklyn-based conceptual artist whose practice investigates themes of perspective, identity, commodity, media influence, and popular culture. Since emerging as a prominent voice in contemporary art, his work has been exhibited internationally at major institutions including the International Center of Photography, Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Musée du quai Branly, Hong Kong Arts Centre, and Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art. Through photography, public installations, and mixed-media works, Thomas challenges viewers to reconsider cultural narratives, power structures, and the visual language that shapes collective perceptions.

Beyond his individual artistic practice, Thomas is widely recognized for collaborative social-impact projects such as Question Bridge: Black Males, The Truth Booth, The Writing on the Wall, and For Freedoms, which received the ICP Infinity Award for New Media and Online Platform in 2017.
