En Verve

The best print designs follow a cohesive and unifying theme. The result is a package that compliments each other visually. En Verve is a French collection of books dedicated to quotes and aphorisms from famous authors. From the quotes of the mini man Napoleon to Celine, Allais, Vian, Che Guevara, and Alleyrand, this collection has it all.
The print designs were crafted by the Accolade agency. Their main goal was to create an identity to appeal to a vast audience. The print design is versatile. Take note of the themed slanted font. This versatility can be adapted to include any potential author with both long and short names. Their names would be recognizable in an instant and flow into the rest of the collection without a blink of the eye.
Best print designs feature beautiful stand-out typography. Here we see the uniqueness of each authors name outlined in a different color. Though each has the same font, the color adds a personality to each author name.
Featuring the birth and death dates of each author helps the reader become aware of how relevant the knowledge within the books still is.

The collection side by side looks amazing. The light beige background makes the color of the author names pop out. The appeal here is to motivate readers to collect all of the texts as having just one would make the others lonely. Treat them like Pokémon. Read em’ all.
Notice the symmetry of the lines. This symmetry creates a wonderful minimalistic flow that glides the eyes through the words. There is an ample amount of negative space surrounding the words. It is not overbearing. It is just right. Like a perfect cup of tea.

When the books are stacked on top of each other, the text stands out. There are no other lines or symbols. This is a collection to be cherished. Something to read and study and then place confidently on your bookshelf to display with pride. The colors look wonderful against the tope background. And the text is small so that any length of any author’s name can fit on the sleeve of the book.
Choosing the right font was monumental to the success of this design. Fonts that are too thick or hard to read would not give this best print design a collectible vibe. Nor would they be able to accommodate future books on different authors.
The best print designs are clean and elegant. They do not have clutter. They do not do more than they are supposed to. Their goal is to deliver crucial information that is condensed and without fluff. Give the consumer the words they need and do not pull the wool over their eyes.
When utilizing simplicity in print design, the end result always wins. Too much information or fancy design symbols causes chaos. Reading books should be a peaceful experience.
We read books to learn sacred knowledge and disappear into the realms of different worlds and far reaching places in history. Accolade agency grasped the concept with brilliance. They created a series that will deliver this treks into interesting knowledge and the potential well of information is without limit.
