  • Project Brief: Create an entertainment brand video that presents The Hunger Games cast through cinematic editorial photography, cohesive styling, and a dystopian-inspired visual direction.

Fashion video usually means a runway reel or a lookbook flip. Dressed to Quell, Entertainment Weekly's cover shoot for the Hunger Games prequel Sunrise on the Reaping, instead stages the cast as figures in a moving Old Master painting.

The ensemble poses against a painted sky, a classical urn, and a wisteria-draped tree, so the cast holds still like oil portraits that happen to breathe. Elle Fanning's wine organza gown and Glenn Close's towering wig with a live python read as Capitol excess without a line of dialogue.

The motion stays deliberately restrained, closer to living portraiture than a cut-heavy trailer. That choice leaves the styling to carry the story, anchored by a calligraphic "Dressed to Quell" title set against the flat green EW logotype.

The strength doubles as the limit. The piece rides almost entirely on costume and set rather than motion design of its own, landing as gorgeous editorial at a slow simmer that stops just short of asking the format to do more.
