  • Project Brief: Create a fashion and beauty video that presents Marks & Spencer’s Autumn 2026 collection through energetic visuals, relatable moments, and playful storytelling.

A fashion and beauty video for a heritage retailer carries a tricky job: shaking off a dowdy reputation without alienating the loyal shopper. Marks & Spencer's "Love That," a campaign from Mother, drops a stylish everywoman into a grand old library and letting handwritten script carry the mood.

The setting does a lot of the lifting, staging the clothes inside a jewel-toned reading room with teal walls, arched windows, and balconied stacks. That warm, cinematic backdrop lends the everyday knitwear and shirting an unexpected richness, pulling M&S upmarket without a studio-white void.

The signature move is the handwritten "Love that." scrawled across the frame in loose white script. It stamps a social, spoken compliment right onto the image, turning a clothing shot into a moment between friends rather than a catalog page.

Styling and setting carry more of the weight than any single big idea, and for the most part they earn it. Where it slips is memorability, since the film sells a feeling so well that the clothes, and the M&S label on them, risk fading into the scenery.
