- Project Brief: Create a luxury fragrance animation that combines floral imagery, cinematic storytelling, and Dior's signature houndstooth details to convey romance and elegance.
An animation for a legacy perfume could just film the bottle and gloss it up in slow motion. "Miss Dior: A Story of Love and Perfume," directed by Ugo Bienvenu and animated by Remembers, hand-draws a whole narrative instead, using an anime-inspired storybook style to walk through the fragrance's history rather than sell a single object.
The film traces the scent back to its roots. It moves from a woman gathering roses in a sun-drenched Grasse garden to an artist sketching at a table, framing the perfume as something grown and made rather than manufactured, a nod to Catherine Dior's real love of flowers.
Bienvenu packs the story with house history most viewers will only half-catch. A couture runway of full-skirted gowns echoes the 1947 New Look debut, and the houndstooth dagger bow appears as a drawn detail, so the film rewards devoted fans while still reading as a love story to everyone else.
Juror Lucia Barbaresso found the house itself intact under the illustration, saying the animation "really captures the elegance and femininity of the brand."
The mood ties it together under Chappell Roan's "Good Luck, Babe!" A longing, atmospheric track laid over slow illustrated scenes gives the whole piece a wistful, cinematic pull, letting a fragrance film play like a short film about love instead of a commercial.
Juror Andrea Owsinek-Brucker credited the pacing as much as the drawing, describing "beautiful artwork, music and tempo" that keep "the messaging on point and polished, the user engaged and uplifted."
