  • Project Brief: Create a product video for Canva that showcases its Magic Eraser tool through relatable humor, rhythmic storytelling, and a clear demonstration of how users can remove unwanted elements from photos.

A product video gets people’s attention fast when it solves a problem they’ve actually had, like an old photo with an ex in it. In "What Will You Canva Today? Erase Your Ex," Canva and Goodby Silverstein & Partners show off the app’s Magic Eraser by doing just that, one breakup photo at a time.

Each ex gets painted over with a loose stroke in Canva’s blue-to-purple gradient, then disappears from the shot. In one photo, a guy flexing on the hood of a gray station wagon glows bright blue for a second before he’s gone, leaving his ex smiling alone by the car.

The phone close-ups keep it simple, with a sunset beach photo, a toolbar along the bottom, and a thumb painting with bright blue nail polish. That polish matches the gradient almost exactly, while the gray sweater and soft, dim framing keep your eyes on the screen.

The line “So long, babe” repeats through the whole spot and lands every time another ex vanishes. It’s catchy and a little petty, which makes the point clearly: letting go takes about one swipe in Canva.
