      eCommerce Development Review from Undisclosed

We have been working with First Pier for almost 10 years now, beginning with the launch of our women’s boutique E-Commerce business. First Pier has been responsible for our e-commerce store design, web development, e-commerce SEO, digital strategy, online marketing campaigns and beyond ever since. As a already successful brick and mortar retailer, we saw an opportunity to reach beyond our existing customer bases in Portland, Maine & Portsmouth, New Hampshire by creating an online shopping experience accessible 24/7 and nationwide. First Pier has helped us turn that vision into reality by taking us from no online store and zero sales to a dependable thriving new channel for our business that continues to grow. Our experience with Shopify started when First Pier migrated our site from Magento to a Shopify website. Since First Pier is a designated Shopify Expert, we knew we could trust them with the daunting task of moving all of our products, accounts, and customer history to our new Shopify site. They made the transition to a new e-commerce system painless by ensuring our hands were held along the way, we were thoroughly trained, and none of the SEO ranking keywords were lost. We continue to work with First Pier on expanding our use of Google Shopping SEO and will be implementing Shopify’s Point of Sale in the coming year as part of a continued effort to deliver a unified customer experience at our stores. As a small women’s boutique based in Maine, we are now able to deliver our customer experience to tourist and seasonal customers where they are year round. We would recommend First Pier to anyone looking to build or update a Shopify store.

First Pier helped us move, update, and launch our online business on Shopify. As a high-traffic bakery, it was important to us that customers buying from around the country were able to view the quality of our products, feel the vibe of our Portland and South Portland shops, and trust that their order would be as special as a visit to our Maine bakery. First Pier delivered mouth-watering e-commerce product photography, an easy-to-use site, and supported us every step of the way. Our shoppable site is now optimized, accurately reflects our brand, and has poised us for growth.

Shopify Plus eCommerce Review from Vern Brannum

Working with Rave Digital on our Shopify Plus site felt less like hiring a service provider and more like bringing on a partner who truly understood the quirks and challenges of running a wholesale candy business. Selling candy in bulk isn't just about putting products online it involves managing pack sizes, special promotions, and customers ranging from small shops to large distributors. Our old platform couldn't keep up, leaving us scrambling. Candy comes in endless flavors, sizes, and assortments, and our old site made customers scroll through countless SKUs, leading to frustration. Rave Digital restructured our product pages so buyers could easily select the exact variation they wanted on a single page. I tested it myself and found it intuitive, and when a wholesale buyer later called saying, Your site finally makes sense, it confirmed the change had real impact. They reimagined the mobile experience, which is critical because many of our buyers order on their phones while running their stores. Previously, mobile checkout was clunky and full of errors. Rave Digital optimized it so that ordering cases of chocolates on my phone felt as seamless as shopping on a top-tier retail site. A customer even told me she completed her Easter order from her car while waiting to pick up her kids something that would have been impossible before. What impressed me most was their collaborative approach. In one meeting, we debated how to display mixed candy assortments. Rather than push a single option, they presented three layouts and encouraged us to test them with real buyers. The choice became clear, and it showed their commitment to creating solutions that worked for our customers, not just ticking boxes. Now, the site feels like an extension of how we want to do business efficient, user-friendly, and stress-free. Rave Digital made it a tool that simplifies wholesale ordering, supports seasonal surges, and gives our customers the smooth, reliable experience they deserve.

    • Rodney McMullen

      Magento Review from Rodney McMullen

As one of the largest grocery retailers in the U.S., Kroger has long understood the value of staying ahead in the digital space. However, the complexity and scale of our eCommerce operations had grown significantly, and our legacy systems were beginning to create bottlenecks across user experience, performance, and operational flexibility. From the onset, Rave Digital demonstrated a deep understanding of Magento and how it could be strategically used to solve enterprise-level retail challenges. Before a single line of code was written, their team spent significant time embedded with our eCommerce, merchandising, and logistics departments. They facilitated several strategy workshops, analyzing our existing Magento Commerce setup, identifying inefficiencies in our multi region architecture, and proposing a refined roadmap for rolling out custom modules, integrating third party services, and optimizing workflows. There are many things we could highlight, but what truly sets Rave Digital apart is their ability to operate as an extension of our internal team. They are not just solution providers they are collaborators, advisors, and problem solvers. Every member of their team, from the project manager to the senior Magento architects, displayed a deep commitment to quality, accountability, and outcomes. Even when timelines got tight or priorities shifted (as they often do in enterprise environments), Rave was flexible, focused, and always aligned with our goals. One particularly telling moment came when we were evaluating an AI-based personalization module. Rather than just build what we requested, Rave took the time to prototype both a native Magento based option and a hybrid third party integration. They walked us through performance trade offs, cost implications, and even customer journey mapping all before we had even signed off on development. That level of thoughtfulness and foresight is rare in technical partners.

We brought Y'all in to audit our Meta and Google campaigns and tell us what was broken. They dug into campaign setups, creative performance, audience targeting, and spend efficiency, then handed us a clear, actionable plan to fix it. The results were hard to argue with. ROAS jumped 184.6%, purchase routing became smoother, and our budget started working a lot harder. What impressed us most was how tailored everything felt. They took the time to understand our brand before making a single recommendation. Nothing was generic. They also walked us through the findings in a recorded session and hosted a live Q&A so nothing got lost in translation. Professional, responsive, and genuinely collaborative from start to finish. No complaints at all.

Y'all has been fantastic to work with for us, a small e-commerce company heading into a scaling year. We found Y'all when looking to up our creative game in 2026 and have been thrilled with their ideas and execution, as well as how quickly they have learned our brand. We quickly brought them on to do paid media buying as well and they have been instrumental in helping us scale spend and revenue during our busy season. Most importantly, they are collaborative, responsive, smart and data driven. For a boostrapped ecomm brand, bringing on agencies is always a huge financial commitment and it can be nerve wracking. Y'all's founder and team clearly care about their clients and outcomes, they go the extra mile, and they are committed to their success. We find them to be true partners.

Performance Marketing Review from Neha Salgaonkar

When we started working with Y'all, we were spending just $2,000 to $3,000 a month on Meta. Our goal was to scale that spend profitably while keeping customer acquisition costs in check. They did exactly that. New customer acquisition grew measurably and ROAS moved in the right direction, all without blowing past our CAC targets. What made them stand out was how plugged in they were. The team monitored our account closely, often sending daily updates and making quick adjustments without needing to be prompted. They never felt like an outside agency. They genuinely cared about the brand and it showed in how they worked. No complaints from our end.

Kenny and team (Katie, Ann and more) are wonderful to work with. They will help your business and they will make it easy for you. They helped our business on several fronts including website redesign, marketing and even resolved some internal IT issues that I did not have the knowledge or time to address. From my 1st meeting with Kenny it was apparent he was very experienced and he did a great job of listening to our needs while making seasoned suggestions as to what would work best for a business like ours. Kenny always has a solution and they fulfilled the scope of work we agreed too in a very professional manner. Forest City's assistance did not end when the site was launched, instead over the next few months they helped out with any issue or question I had. He made several videos on how to work with our new site and simply made everything easy for us. Couldn't be happier with this company, feel fortunate we were able to work with them and I look forward to working with them again. I highly recommend this business.

Wanted to launch on TikTok Shop in early 2026 and had tried two other agencies before TipTop. Both lost money.TipTop's first call was a fit-check, not a sales pitch. They told us straight: TikTok Shop is creator-driven, not Amazon. If you don't have an active affiliate program with 3 to 5 producing creators, your ads burn budget into an empty audience. They had us send 280 product samples to micro-creators before we spent a dollar on ads.First 30 days: 47 of those creators posted, top 8 produced $80K in GMV before any paid spend. Then they layered Spark Ads on the top creator videos and another $4K of ad spend produced $48K more. What I liked: they actually understand the operational mechanics, not just the marketing theory. The cadence (samples first, then tier 1 commission upgrade, then Spark Ads on creator-credit content) is something other agencies talk about but few execute consistently.8 months in, TikTok Shop is 22% of our D2C now.

Switched our Amazon FBA account from a percentage-of-ad-spend agency to TipTop's fixed-fee model 8 months ago.The numbers since: ACOS dropped from 32% to 19%. Account health back to "good" within 60 days. Zero suspensions in 8 months despite a Brand Registry IP complaint that came in around month 3 (they handled it without it ever escalating). The thing that's different is the cadence. They run a Tuesday account health meeting on every account, address every notification within 72 hours, and treat inventory reorder math as a marketing variable not a finance variable. Nobody else we'd worked with operated that way.We pay them less per month than our previous agency for more visible work. Weekly time logs. Direct founder access on every call. Recommend them if you're tired of agencies that won't show their hours.

eCommerce Marketing Agency FAQs

What services does a US eCommerce marketing agency offer?

Typical services eCommerce marketing agencies provide are:

  • Email marketing: Automated flows and segmented campaigns, one of the highest-ROI channels at $36-$42 per $1 spent
  • Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising: Google Shopping, Meta, TikTok, Amazon, and Bing campaigns. PPC remains one of the most in-demand services in the U.S., with the country accounting for nearly 50% of all global Google Ads customers.
  • Search engine optimization (SEO): Technical fixes, keyword optimization, and product page improvements.
  • Conversion rate optimization (CRO): A/B testing, checkout optimization, and removing UX friction to increase conversion rates.
  • Content and social media marketing: Product content, buying guides, and social campaigns that support visibility and sales.

How much does it cost to hire one of these agencies in the US?

Hiring one of these agencies in the U.S. typically costs $2,500 to $10,000+ per month for small to mid-size businesses.

Larger agencies offering multi-channel management or advanced analytics may charge $15,000 to $50,000+ monthly, depending on scope and service depth.

Agencies generally use one of four pricing structures:

Pricing modelTypical cost range
Monthly retainer$2,500-$10,000+ and $15,000-$50,000+
Hourly rate $100-$300+
Project-based $5,000-$30,000+
Performance-based Variable, tied to traffic, conversions, or revenue

How long does it take to see results from eCommerce marketing campaigns?

Timelines vary by channel, but most brands may expect meaningful results within three to six months, with a stronger, compounding impact over 6-12+ months.

  • PPC
    • Immediate (days-weeks): Impressions, clicks, and early conversions start as soon as campaigns go live
    • 3+ months: Consistent ROI usually requires several weeks to a few months of testing bids, keywords, and creatives
  • SEO and content marketing
    • 3-6 months: Initial lifts in rankings, organic traffic, and leads are possible
    • 6-12+ months: Stronger organic visibility and revenue as content, links, and technical improvements compound
  • Social media marketing
    • 1-3 months: Early engagement (likes, comments, clicks)
    • 3-6+ months: Noticeable audience growth and traffic
    • 6-12 months: More substantial brand awareness and sales impact

What is the difference between eCommerce marketing and digital marketing?

Ecommerce marketing focuses on driving online sales for businesses that sell products through a website or marketplace.

It uses channels like SEO, PPC, email, social media, and CRO with a single purpose: increasing transactions, revenue, and customer lifetime value. The tactics are performance-driven and built around product feeds, conversion funnels, and shopper behavior.

Digital marketing is broader and supports any type of business. Its goals may include brand awareness, lead generation, or offline sales, using channels like content marketing, social media, paid ads, SEO, and PR.

What are the most effective strategies recommended by eCommerce marketing agencies?

They tend to focus on the following strategies to increase trust and maximize revenue across the customer journey:

  1. Retargeting & cart recovery campaigns
Since 70.19% of online shopping carts are abandoned, retargeting ads and automated cart recovery emails consistently deliver some of the highest ROI in eCommerce.
  2. Personalization across the funnel
24% of consumers are more loyal to brands that offer the best personalized deals, making tailored recommendations and segmented messaging one of the strongest retention strategies.
  3. UGC builds trust and boosts conversions
UGC is a critical trust signal in eCommerce. 88% of consumers read reviews before buying, and 67% say reviews or customer photos/videos influenced an unplanned purchase. Product pages with UGC see conversion rates around 3.2%, with a 102% lift when shoppers engage with the content.
