EMBR AI & Automation Overview

Year Founded: 2026

Employees: Under 49

Minimal Budget: $1,000 - $10,000

Average Hourly Rate: $85/hr

EMBR builds AI and automation people actually use, for South African businesses with roughly 50 to 500 staff.

The spreadsheet only one person understands. The WhatsApp group that runs dispatch. The order retyped from email into the ERP. These workarounds keep a business running, but they take time and leave too much dependent on someone remembering, checking or chasing.

We help you fix the problems behind them.

We spend time with the people doing the work, observe how jobs move through the business and examine the information your systems already hold. Then we recommend what to fix first, with an estimate of the time it costs and a practical plan for improving it.

WHAT WE DO

Equip: Help leaders and teams understand where AI can help, how to use it responsibly and where to start.

Diagnose: Find repetitive work, delays and gaps between systems. Give you a short, ranked list of problems worth fixing.

Build: Connect the systems you already use and automate routine tasks. Use AI where it helps with work such as reading documents, sorting messages or preparing drafts.

Improve: Monitor and maintain what we build, and check whether people are using it and whether it saves time.

HOW WE WORK

Fixed fees and a clear scope, agreed before work starts. No hourly billing. We start with the systems you already have, and your team stays in control of decisions that need judgement. If a process change will solve the problem, we'll recommend that.

OUR RESEARCH

We're also measuring the time South African businesses spend retyping, reconciling, chasing and moving information between systems. We call this workaround debt.

In Q1 2027, we plan to publish the Workaround Debt Index, with an open methodology, published sources and a free calculator to help businesses estimate their own costs.
