We specialise in creating compelling TVCs (audio-visual advertisements), branded content, social media, music videos, corporate, promo, educational and narrative films.
Monster & Bear is a Melbourne-based production company, founded by Sarah Hickey, Josh Mitchell-Frey and Ryan Bird in 2013. Since its establishment, the company has rapidly become known for high level production concepts, and a meticulous level of attention to detail in the commercial and narrative space.
To us, although our vehicle for storytelling is an unforgiving one, it’s a beast we love to wrangle. We aim high, challenge ourselves and work closely with our clients and collaborators to push the limits of what’s possible within such an exciting medium. It’s for this very reason that we stay on top of new technologies and embrace the ever changing platforms in which these stories can be shared.
With a large network of collaborators on our side, we encourage any potential clients to reach out to see how we can nurture an idea - no matter how large or small. We are chameleons, able to scale up and down where required, working nimbly with those who like to take risks with us. We’re a team of “yessers” as we like to say.

Sarah HIckey
Director (Founder)
When she isn't directing, Sarah’s role as Creative Director at Monster & Bear has her overseeing the overall vision of all Monster & Bear films. One of three company directors, Sarah is heavily involved in the nurturing and meticulous thought process behind a visual concept.
