Packaging Design Analysis

Good packaging often works on two levels: it serves a practical function and tells a story about the brand.

For me, the design for New York Bagel Bar system manages to do both, giving everyday items a sense of place and personality.

  • Structure & Function: The bags and boxes feel sturdy and proportioned for real use. I noticed how they maintain refinement even under the demands of hospitality.
  • Visual Identity: A kraft base paired with black and white creates a classic palette. The oversized BB monogram anchors the system and gives it instant recognition.
  • Design Details: The Manhattan Bridge print grounds the design in New York. Subway-inspired lines and a hand-drawn bagel add a touch of warmth to the modern framework.
  • Brand Story: Each choice contributes to a sense of heritage tied to the city’s rhythm. The result is packaging that turns a simple purchase into part of a larger cultural experience.
