- Project Brief: Create a commercial that strengthens Monzo's global brand through emotionally driven storytelling, cinematic single-take filmmaking, and subtle product integration that celebrates authentic everyday moments.
A commercial typically spends its 30 seconds shouting the product name. Monzo's "Get Busy Living" does the opposite. It holds a single unbroken shot on one everyday moment and lets three of its tools slip in quietly at the edge of the frame.
That one-take choice is really the whole idea. Daniel Wolfe shot all 10 films in a single continuous run each, so a dad spinning his daughter around in a towel just plays out start to finish, and the feeling stays intact where a cut would have killed it.
The whole thing looks close and handheld, lit like a real room in warm, earthy tones instead of the usual glossy studio sheen. That grounded feel fits a bank that wants to come across as approachable, and it lets Monzo sit in the background of someone's life rather than hog the middle of it.
The branding stays light on purpose. Salary Sorter just drifts up as a quiet figure on screen mid-scene, and with familiar songs playing and Olivia Colman narrating, the tools land without ever stopping the story. Monzo ends up feeling like part of the moment instead of a break from it.
