MetCredit should spend less time pretending to collect debts and more time learning how to use a phone book. They keep harassing my girlfriend for some random Amanda who had her number years ago. If their database is this sloppy, I can only imagine how many other innocent people they harass daily.Calling strangers isn’t ‘debt collection,’ it’s just incompetence with a dial tone. Based on my experience, MetCredit isn’t a professional agency — it’s a call center roulette where you hope they don’t land on your number.Save yourself the headache: if they’re handling your account, good luck ever seeing real results. If they’re calling you, buckle up for endless harassment for debts that aren’t yours. "

Seriously this is getting ridiculous, they are sending me letters for a old koodo bill from 2019, which they should know in Alberta it is illegal after 2 years. Funny part I have had multiple collection agencies send me this over the last 5 years. This is getting very old 5 months ago chapter law had it and funny it was only 3000 and now it's 8000. You should be charged. I will once again call a laywer over this and watch it will get sold again. Now leave me alone period you are breaking the laws in Alberta.Clearly Metcredit is 100% a scam they literally jump your debt up by $1500 a month how is that even legal, its not. I have the reports. "

I had a $900 debt with met credit included in a consumer proposal that was approved in Dec 2021. Now my credit report says that I owe close to $15000, this was confirmed to be interest by someone at met credit the only time that either myself or my trustee has spoken to an actual person. I have left several voicemails & my trustee has sent paperwork but can’t get through to anyone. Please be careful trusting this agency & report to equifax/transunion if need be. "

Really wanted to give them another chance, but they've never been successful collecting any accounts I submitted over the years. As soon as the debtor "disputes" a debt and/or sends a letter from a lawyer (which is just text by the way, not a sword or gun), no further action is taken apart from closing the file.- In the last one I sent, we weren't even advised until almost an entire month later. Yet MetCredit was quick to close the file within 24 hours. Absolutely spineless. In the collections business but frightened by a piece of paper or wall of text.- We could of known sooner- and at least sued for the debt and thus acquired a trial date and judgment sooner.Also the debt isn't even posted on the debtor's credit bureau around 30 days after submission, giving the debtor even more time to breathe. Other collection agencies we've done across don't delay like this.I work for a company with an extremely effective internal collections team where this does not happen, so I'm baffled at why this agency is so ineffective. "

I used MetCredit to collect a business debt. It's not easy to sign up with them and navigate their system, but they did collect the debt for me. I do think that charging 25% for forwarding emails between myself and the debt client is pretty steep, which is all they did. However it was better than getting nothing.Update: I appreciated being contacted by MetCredit regarding my review and they explained all the steps they took, which I was not aware of previously. I'm not sure why the cheque was not originally received as the address I gave is correct, but they promptly rectified this by arranging online payment.I am changing my review stars to 5 to reflect all the work they did to obtain the debt and the good customer service I received. "
