The establishment of the studio "Gaoshi Wusuo" in 2019 marked a new chapter after leaving the startup team. I remember my first entrepreneurial venture in 2014, during my senior year of college: as a student, I was eager to make a name for myself in the real world. By chance, a friend introduced me to a job, and I traveled north from my dormitory to meet the founder. That evening, we talked about design and career. It was also the first time I had a purposeful reflection on the metaphysics of design. Soon after, with one foot on campus and the other in the entrepreneurial dream, I founded an app service with four partners. The aim was to connect residential communities, and I was responsible for product design and brand design. After five years of this marathon, I left the team. After adjusting my mindset, I established the studio in 2019. What exactly is design? What do I hope to give the world through design? I continue to move forward with this tension. It has been an incredible journey, a profound tempering: racing against time, patience for self-identity, balancing satisfaction and incompleteness, psychological breakdown and sense of accomplishment, the team's passion and despair, and the cruelty of the market. I gained a profound understanding of the meaning of design, its commercial relevance, and its impact on my career.
