The Sea View Inn hotel in Manhattan Beach, California, aims to capture the laid-back beach feeling of the area and encourage visitors to live like locals. Drawing from the visual style of 70s beach culture, Commence Studio, dared the waves and delivered an authentic cross-time experience to capture the essence of the era for the visitors, just by glancing at the logo.
Combining three widely different fonts and adding a slew of Americana-inspired visuals to complement it, the agency emphasized the brand's mission and elevated it so much so that it transcended the superficial nostalgia-infused trip, immersing the hotel's guests in a genuine journey through the sun-soaked days of the old. The strategic fusion of elements, not only communicates the unique vibe, it also fosters a connection with the community's cultural roots. This visual identity becomes more than a mere logo; it's a time capsule, evoking a sense of belonging and shared experiences.
