Norwegian Energy built its entire brand identity around the idea of being a clean, genuinely natural energy source coming directly from Norway. Communicating this origin story plus all the other positive values of this product was the number one goal for the creation of its packaging, which was handled flawlessly by Allink Design.

You can't miss the Norwegian flag integrated near the top, displayed right with claims like "100% Natural." It tells you the product's origin, which is a clever play on Norway's positive associations with nature. It’s a powerful symbol that anchors the brand’s roots and engages with the local market, as if telling you to shop locally or buy from the best.

The designer oriented the bold brand name and the flavor text vertically along the can's length, maximizing how it looks on the slim format common in coolers. Going vertical like this contributes significantly to a modern, assertive shelf presence, helping it stand out among all the other cans in the grocery aisles.

To back up the Nordic and natural theme effectively, each can features a clean white silhouette of a polar bear. This makes you think of the Arctic environment, hinting at purity and a refreshingly (maybe even freezingly) cold drink. It positions the product as something pure like ice, which makes sense given the brand’s cleaner energy alternative theme.

The Norwegian Energy brand underscores how powerful creating a strong unique selling proposition can be. But more than that, this beverage packaging multiplies that effect with a brand story told through design. Be it a flag or cultural icon, any design element that can differentiate you can prove a powerful tactic for new or challenger product introductions.
